Chapter 35

Anika- No Dad I m not coming with you. This is my home now!!

She said leaving Mr.Malhotra and Oberois  shocked .

Mr.M- Anika, you don't have to fear him anymore. He can't take Sahil or anyone else away from you. You don't need to agree to anything he says!! He will behind the bars soon .Just let me call the commissioner.
He said dialing the number.

Anika- No Dad....stop. Don't involve Police.

Mr.M- Princess....why?? You want to save the man who tried to ruin your life??

Anika- Dad, he is the Oberoi.....he will get out in few days. Plus I don't want media to get involved....and you know our life is complicated when it comes to media.

Mr.M- I can understand Anika but I can't let you live with this man anymore!! And we can't just leave him unpunished!!

Anika- Dad, even if we do this under law and jurisdiction, he won't be behind the bars for more than 6-12 month....he married me forcefully, he didn't force himself on me or anything. He would easily come out in no time.
She said frustrated.

Every head turned towards her, looking with different expressions.

Shivay didn't know whether to feel happy that his wife is defending him and convincing her dad to not send him to jail or be angry that she was frustrated because he didn't rape her.

Anika(flustered)- I didn't mean it that way. Dad if media gets involved than along with him his family would be black listed. Oberoi Industry will seize to exist because of major stocks crash with the news, this will lead to people loosing jobs becoming homeless and poor out on streets and I don't want this to happen because of one man.... Plus Oberois will be one facing all the burnt and I love them as my own family....and I can't let them suffer because of his doing. I can't do this to them.

There was pin drop silence for a minute.....all 4 man trying to absorb what Anika said.

Mr.M-- Anika we have the evidence.....you can't go and live with him like nothing happened!!

He said in haze of anger with all scenes from the video still playing in his mind after seeing how she was manhandled. No father would ever want to see his precious pearl going through with anything like that.

Anika(sighing)- Dad you very well know I can't come in front of world now.....my event is within 20 weeks and I won't let anything jeopardize it in anyway. It will be the biggest event of my life and I won't let yours or mine name dragged in middle of anything controversial.
She said trying a different approach to calm him down.

Oberois were little relieved but lot more confuse about what event Anika was referring to....

Mr.M- Anika but.....

Anika- Dad, please....prison sentence wouldn't be enough for punishing him.....you know your daughter very well. Do you think I will leave him just like that....I WILL BRING HIM DOWN TO HIS KNEES, THAT HE WILL REGRET THE DAY HE DECIDED TO MARRY ME INSTEAD!! I PROMISE YOU THAT.
She said with gritted teeth furiously.

Tej and Shakti took her words lightly thinking to be just said in anger not holding any meaning.

Shivay felt goose bumps listening to her voice and he has already realized she was capable of just doing what she said.

Wanting to break the ice,
Tej- Anika will always be our daughter Ravi, we will take care of everything she would need....Whatever she decides we will abide to it....You both need to talk alone. We will take your leave now.

Tej and Shakti moved out leaving Shivay with them.

Shivay- Uncle please just listen to me once. I know I have no right to even talk to you after what I did ....I know the way I married Anika was wrong but my reason of marrying her was not all wrong. I was gonna cancel my wedding before Tia ran away!!

Anika- Ohh please you liar don't start with your fake drama as such I am not sending you to jail. So, don't waste your and our time on any these excuses. Clearly anything you say, we would not believe!!

Shivay- I m not making any excuses. Uncle I was going to cancel my wedding with Tia on that day as I realized that I like someone else and I wanted her in my life. But then I came to know Tia ran away. I took impulsive decision to avoid tainting my family name.

Anika was hurt after listening that he already like someone but ignored the feeling.

Mr.M- When you already decided to not marry Tia and had someone else in your life....then why did you bring my daughter in between?? You could have just asked that girl, who you wanted to be in your life to marry you and have ended the matter there....!!

Shivay- I just did that uncle. I did that. I married the girl I wanted in my life. The girl I like is none other than your Princess!!!

Anika and Mr.Malhotra were speechless.

Shivay- Though my way was wrong but my intention of marrying Anika were not bad. I really really like her sir. And at that time I didn't even knew that she is a Malhotra.....I accepted her as a middle class girl that I thought she was, who would stay with me forever after understanding my intentions and feelings for her in due course!!

Anika was getting frustrated with whole situation.
Anika- He is faking it Dad. Don't believe him.

Shivay- Anika I m not faking anything. Every word I spoke is truth and just the truth. Trusting and not trusting is in your hand. But I promise you that I would make you believe me soon. And I REGRET THE PATH I CHOOSE TO MARRY YOU BUT I DON'T REGRET MY DECISION TO MARRY YOU!!

With that he walked out of the room leaving stunned Malhotras.
Now only Anika and her father were present.

Mr.Raviandra Malhotra was trying hard to understand the complicated tangled relationships. He wasn't fully sure whether to believe Shivay or not, what if Anika was right and he made that story up!! But what he observed in these days about Shivay was he genuinely cares about Anika, he would never dare to harm her in anyway.

Also he was very well aware what his daughter is capable of....and he was afraid that venomous fire of revenge burning in her can lead to her own destruction. He would never want that for his only Daughter, his Princess, his heart, his life.

Thinking deeply he finally decided to make his daughter see the light in her darkness,
Mr.M- I think he was genuine about his feelings towards you. But I know you don't feel the same so, I can't let you just waste your life taking revenge on him....just divorce him and get over with it.

Anika- No dad.... I don't want to divorce him yet. I am not saying that I will be with him for life time but I will be with him until I take every bit of my revenge from him, I won't leave him and that house.....
She said determined avoiding to think of his confession.

Mr.M- Your Mom always believed in 'Once you are married, you are married for the lifetime!!'  I m not telling you to give your lifetime to him but just try to make this work....I hate him too after what he did to you....but I think he deserves a chance. Though he married you for his own selfish reasons but I have seen genuine feelings for you in his eyes in last two days and now after his confession I don't think that he can fake it all.

Anika- Dad, he is a master manipulator. Don't let him get to you.

Me.M(tierdly)- Anika, I don't know if all I saw in him was his drama or not but what you have planned, this revenge has never done any good to anybody till date. If you don't want to give this relationship a chance then I won't force you but please try to move past it!!! Just think about it.

Patting her back he left her to figure out her next step.
