"Hey man, what's up?" One of Cayden's friends came up to us as we were on our way out of school. Cayden was giving me a ride home since it was raining and I forgot to bring my umbrella.

"Hey Ryan, just on my way home." Cayden said casually. I don't think Ryan realized I was there because he didn't even look at me.

"I can't wait for the party tonight. Which one of the girls are you bringing this time?" I had no idea what he was referring to but by the look on his face I knew it was nothing I really wanted to know. If Cayden had a different girl at every party and slept with them then it wasn't my problem.

"Neither, I have a new date."

"Really, who is she?"Cayden nodded his head and looked at me. I didn't know what to say so I just stood there. Ryan looked at me then Cayden.

"You're kidding right? Please tell me you're kidding. You can't bring that freak girl to your party, she's poor!" Ryan spoke like I wasn't even there. Cayden's head snapped in my direction just in time to see me wipe a tear from my eye. His face softened when he looked at me but the instant he turned towards Ryan his face hardened again. Today was just not my day.

"I'm serious. Bethany is going to be my date to the party and if you don't like it then you don't have to come." Ryan glanced at me. I was shocked by Cayden's reaction I thought that once his friends found out he would just change his mind and forget about me.

"No, no I'll be there." They bro hugged like nothing was wrong. Cayden nodded and Ryan walked away.

"You didn't have to do that you know."I finally said staring at the ground

"Look I told you one Monday that I was taking you to my party I'm not going to back out now, I'm not that kind of guy." He smiled at me. His smile alone was enough to make me forget about all of the horrible things that happened today.

"You know you are a very sweet guy." His smile brightened as I looked up into his eyes. I just loved the way that his eyes shined in the sunlight. In that moment all I saw was him. There was no one else around us, it was just me and him. I didn't know where these feelings wee coming from but the more I was with Cayden, the more feelings I had for him.

"I should get you home." Cayden opened the door for me and took me home. "Text me when you are ready." He smiled before driving away.

I slipped on my strapless light purple dress that came to about my mid thigh. The top part of the dress was covered in sparkles. It was tight around my upper body but not too uncomfortably tight. Then it spread out loosely so that if I twirled around suddenly my underwear would show. In reality it was a $140 dollar dress but I had gotten at the local thrift store for no more than twenty. This was the first time that I actually wore it, I'm not the type of person to dress up but since I told my mom that she could pick my outfit I couldn't turn it down.

Although I did draw the line when she wanted me to wear heels. Instead I just wore a pair of my moms black flats. However I did let her curl my hair and do my makeup which I haven't done since I was a little girl.

I looked at myself in the mirror and almost didn't recognize myself. My eyes are what gave me away, that greenish silver color they have is almost hard to miss.

I grabbed my phone hesitating just a bit I knew that once I texted Cayden to come get me there was no chance for me to back out of this party. I sighed heavily which I found myself doing a lot lately.

Hey Cay, I'm ready. I quickly typed into my phone hovering my thumb over the send button finally pushing after staring at the message for more than a minute.

Be there in five. He texted back almost instantly. I got butterflies in my stomach as I read his reply.

I looked at myself once more before walking downstairs where my mom was waiting for me in the kitchen. She wanted to check out her finished "product". She hasn't seen me in the dress yet and I knew she was going to freak when she did.

"Mom" I said. She was standing in the kitchen taking a picture of something outside with her back towards me. She turned around and her mouth literally fell to the ground. Her eyes popped out of her head as she looked me up and down.

"Look at you! You're gorgeous!" She started snapping pictures of me. She had to keep reminding me to smile since I was so nervous I don't smile much when I'm nervous. Fortunately my modeling session was stopped short by a light rapping on the door.

"That must be him. I'll try to be home by midnight. If I plan on staying later I will call or text you." I gave her a kiss on the cheek.

"Have fun!" She squealed as I made my way out of the kitchen towards the door. I opened the door to reveal a very nervous looking Cayden. Why would he be nervous?

"Hi."I blushed tucking a strand of hair behind my ear while he stood there staring at me.

"Hey. Ready?" I nodded and stepped outside closing the door behind Me. Being the gentlemen that he is he opened the door for me causing me to blush again. I didn't know why I was blushing so much. Maybe it was because of the feelings I had for him.

"By the way you look beautiful"He said before closing my door. I turned away from him as he got in the car and drove away. I was afraid to look at him. "Bethany what's wrong?"

"Do you like me?" I asked turning to look at him. I was afraid of what the answer was going to be but I had to know. I had to know that I wasn't the only one feeling the way I did.

"Yeah of course I do."

"No I mean do you like me as more than friends." The way he said it made it sound like he didn't really like me.

"Bethany I like you, more than you know."He mumbled the last part probably hoping that I wouldn't hear it but I did.
