Better and Better

~ At Class ~

I casually entered my class, not receiving a single greet from anyone like always.

I mean, it was already a daily routine of being ignored so I wasn't really hurt by this anymore.

I was never a pro at making friends or socializing in general, so I could never really approach someone and just simply become friends with them.

So, like always, I just quietly went to the back of the class and situated myself at my desk.

I suddenly gasped upon noticing that Taehyung happened to be in the same class as me.

Wait, did I always have this class with him?

How did I never notice?

Or yeah, I've never really observed my class because it wasn't like I had anyone to look for in particular.

Feeling slightly happy from the fact that I share a class with Taehyung, I couldn't help but smile.

But suddenly, Chaeyeon came over to me with her little crew following behind her.

"Ugh, wipe that disgusting smile off of your face. It makes you look uglier than you already are." She commented, rudely scoffing in disgust at me.

"What are you even smiling at in the first place?" She asked, as if I wasn't allowed to be happy or something.

"N-Nothing..." I reluctantly muttered, taking a little peek at Taehyung to make sure he wasn't witnessing this embarrassing scene.

Chaeyeon followed the direction of my gaze, gasping in shock at the fact that I was staring at him.

"Excuse me? Who gave you the right to stare at my Taehyung?" She asked, emphasizing her idiotic logic that he belonged to her, when he wasn't even dating her at all.

"Don't tell me, you actually have feelings for him?" She asked, raising her eyebrow to make sure I wasn't developing feelings for "her" man.

But being that honest girl I've always been, I couldn't dare to lie about my feelings, so I just decided to stay silent.

Chaeyeon gasped in utter astonishment and immediately began to burst into laughter, followed by her crew laughing at me as well.

"Oh gosh, you actually had the audacity to have a crush on my Taehyung? You're so hilarious Aera." She said as she pretended to wipe her tears of laughter away.

"Listen carefully you little worthless trash, Taehyung belongs to me, and only me. We may not be dating, but he's still mine, got that? And besides, he'll never like a hideous, dull, good-for-nothing low life like you." Chaeyeon stated as she arrogantly crossed her arms.

I've heard that phrase from Jungkook already, so I wasn't really offended by her rude remark.

Knowing for a fact that if I opened my mouth, she was going to fire back at me, so I just continued to stay silent for my own sake.

"Come on girls." Chaeyeon said to her little crew as she gave me one last devious smirk, and walked away from me.

I rolled my eyes in utter disbelief, amazed by her conceitedness and confidence.

The teacher entered the class with a stack of papers in his arms, the whole class gasping at the realization that it was the previous math test we took.

"Yes, that's right students. This is your previous math test, which you all did a horrible job on. Of course, only one student got a perfect score, and that is Kim Aera." The teacher announced as he gave me a proud smile.

"And yet again, Kim Taehyung had the lowest score in this class. To prevent this from happening again, I will be assigning Taehyung a tutor from this class to help him improve on his math skills." He announced, causing everyone to burst into laughter and jokingly tease Taehyung.

"And that tutor will be Kim Aera."

Upon hearing this, all the girls gasped in shock and began to protest this idea.

But out of all the girls, Chaeyeon was obviously the most affected by this, so she immediately stood up from her seat and raised her hand.

"Mr. Choi, I am willing to volunteer to replace Aera's position of being Taehyung's tutor. I'm sure Aera is extremely busy with all her studies and homework, and I feel terrible for her to be responsible for so much." She said in an extremely fake tone, trying to express her pity for me for the teacher to fall for her stupid act.

"I'm sorry but it has to be Aera. I'm sure she can manage her time for her studies and homework, knowing that she is the top student in our whole entire school." The teacher said.

"But-"

As Chaeyeon was about to protest again, he immediately shut her up by putting his index finger up.

"Yes, I know you like Taehyung very much Chaeyeon, but you cannot be replacing Aera's position just for the benefit of your love life."

This caused Chaeyoen to instantly shut her mouth and sit back down, her cheeks extremely flushed from the abashing remark the teacher just made.

I couldn't help but chuckle, happy at the fact that that ruthless jerk was embarrassed in front of the whole class.

"Alright so Aera, you'll be in charge of tutoring Taehyung after school for this entire month okay?" The teacher said to me.

I replied with a simple nod, trying to hide my smile that was slowly creeping onto my face from the joy that I was feeling.

I noticed Taehyung turn around to look at me, giving me a small thumbs up with a big grin plastered on his face.

I smiled back at him, giving him a thumbs up as well.

Honestly, this day couldn't get any better.
