~ still Taehyung's POV ~

Lazily walking down the stairs of the school to head home, I began to hear the sound of strong, blaring rain harshly hitting the ground as I approached the exit.

"No way..." I apprehensively muttered, stopping in my footsteps as I stared out the clear glass door, just silently watching the harsh rain outside.

I would wait until the rain would stop, but since it was already 5:00 pm, I had to get home no matter what.

I let out an agitated groan as I took out my foldable umbrella from inside my bag, gloomily walking outside the door.

Hurriedly opening my umbrella while standing in front of the door where the rain didn't hit me, I sensed someone standing next to me.

I gradually turned my head to the right to see who it was, my eyes growing larger in utter astonishment.

It was Aera.

She was just patiently standing there as she gazed at the falling rain, both of her hand tightly grasping her school bag.

My heart instantly began to race, causing me to feel a bit nervous from this awkward situation.

Although she hasn't noticed me yet, my instincts told me to approach her.

Mentally encouraging myself, I took a step closer to her as I hovered my umbrella over her.

Aera shifted her gaze to me, her eyes widening at the sight of me standing there.

"Wanna borrow my umbrella?" I offered as I cocked my head.

She vigorously shook her head as she gave me a small smile in reply.

"No it's okay, it's your umbrella so you should use it."

"It's alright, I can just run home in the rain since I live close by." I lied so she would take my umbrella instead.

"No really, I can wait for the rain to stop."

"Just take my umbrella, you're going to get sick."

"It's fine Taehyung, really."

"Just use it."

"No, you use it."

After a few minutes of a small argument, Aera finally gave up and let out a chuckle.

"Fine, let's both use it."

I looked at her in utter confusion, puzzled at what she meant by that.

"Like this." She said as she took the umbrella from me and hovered it over us, gently tugging on my arm to pull me closer to her.

Her sudden action caused my heart to skip a beat and my cheeks to slightly flush.

"Good?" Aera asked me as I replied with a small nod.

Walking home with her small figure next to me, I couldn't help but notice her struggling to keep the umbrella up because of our height difference.

I couldn't help but let out a laugh at her cuteness.

"I'll hold it." I said, gently taking the umbrella from her to make it easier for her.

"Wow, you're such a gentleman Taehyung." Aera teased, playfully nudging on my arm while she chuckled.

"Psh, when was I not?" I replied, causing the two of us to burst into laughter.

Ah, I missed this.

These casual conversations and jokes we shared, genuinely laughing together like we used to.

Maybe Aera hasn't changed at all.

Her appearance may have transformed completely, but her high-spirited and enthusiastic personality was still the same.

As if she was thinking about the same exact thing, Aera suddenly spoke up.

"You know, I honestly missed laughing with you like this."

I nodded my head in agreement as I listened to her speak her mind.

"If it wasn't for you and your careless actions, maybe we could've been really good friends." She said in a rather teasing way, receiving a whine from me in return.

"Hey, I said I was sorry." I said as I sadly pouted, kind of upset that she brought that topic up.

"I know you are, and I forgive you." Aera said, causing me to look at her in great confusion.

"R-Really? What happened to being all mad and hating me?" I asked in a puzzled tone, extremely confused at her sudden change in mind.

"I, uh, kinda happened to have witnessed your argument with Chaeyeon earlier today..." She reluctantly muttered as she let out a nervous laugh.

Upon hearing this, I facepalmed myself out of the slight embarrassment I felt.

"Don't worry, I was actually happy from what you did. I wouldn't have accepted your apology if you continued your relationship with Chaeyeon." She honestly stated.

"I've thought about it for a while now, and I've decided to give you another chance. I mean, people learn from their mistakes right?" Aera said as she looked at me, a warm, genuine smile plastered on her face.

I happily smiled back at her and nodded in agreement.

"Thanks Aera."

Honestly, she was literally the most kind-hearted soul on earth.

I mean, I couldn't even forgive myself for the dreadful actions I've committed.

But being the lenient, benevolent girl she was, Aera forgave me.

She regained her trust in me, her faith in me, and her friendship with me.

I knew I couldn't let her down.
