Friday came a lot faster than expected. Logan had honestly almost forgotten all about the date he had planned, and the rest of the week went by as usual. He wasn't worried about it. That is, until the day finally came and Patton happened to remind him of it.

"Are you excited about your date with Virgil later?" He asked at lunch, making Logan freeze.

"Oh." He muttered, staring into space as he thought. "Right. That is today." He frowned, and Patton couldn't help but frown as well.

"Hey," he spoke softly, reaching over to comfortingly place a hand over Logan's. "Don't worry. It'll be amazing! Just have fun, hang out with him like normal. Be yourself."

Logan nodded, only half-hearing him as he thought to himself. He couldn't help but keep thinking about the things he might do to mess things up. Logan sighed, looking over at Patton and wondering if he should talk to him about his worries. He opened his mouth to speak, hesitating for a moment.

"I... am scared something might go wrong. What if I say something that makes me look like a fool? Or what if he realizes he doesn't actually like me? What if this was all just some elaborate joke to make fun of me?" Logan groaned, letting his head fall to rest on the table. "I know, these are all ridiculous scenarios that most likely would never happen. However, I cannot help but worry."

Patton smiled assuringly at him, squeezing his hand. "It will be okay, Logan. Virgil really cares about you, it's obvious! He's not going to leave you, or make fun of you, and you won't say anything wrong! I promise."

Logan lifted his head slightly to look at him, and sighed. "How are you so sure...?"

"Like I said Logan, Virgil really likes you. He wouldn't do anything to hurt you, I'm sure of that." Patton told him, and Logan sighed again, sitting up and nodding.

"Right. Thank you, Patton." He offered him a tiny smile, one that made Patton's own smile grow. He loved making his friends happy. The conversation topic soon changed, the two of them talking for the rest of lunch.

Logan made his way out of the school building feeling much less nervous than he had expected. He still was worried over some things, but for the most part he was excited to spend time with Virgil. He made his way to their usual meeting place, finding him already there waiting. Logan glanced around for a moment to see if Roman or Archer were around, and when he saw no sign of either of them he approached Virgil.

"Hello." He greeted, Virgil quickly looking up at him. He gave a small smile, cheeks lighting up and Virgil grinned back.

"Hey." He saluted, Logan also noticing a light blush on his cheeks.

Awkwardly, Logan held out his hand for Virgil to take, clearing his throat. "Would you like to get going, then?"

Virgil took his hand with a grin, stepping closer to Logan. "I'd love to."

The two of them walked hand in hand to the park, neither of them saying anything at first. Logan was desperately searching his mind for something to say, anything the two of them could talk about, but he couldn't think of anything. Luckily for him, Virgil spoke up so he didn't have to think of anything. The two of them talked as they walked to the park, not stopping as they sat down on a park bench. Even as they sat down neither of them let go of the other's hand.

The two had been talking for a while before trailing off. It seemed the two of them had run out of things to say, not that either of them minded. The park was full of sounds to make up for their silence, and the two of them simply sat together and listened, unconsciously shifting closer. Logan squeezed Virgil's hand, looking over at him and smiling slightly. "Would you, um... Would you like to go get ice cream?"

"Sounds great." Virgil looked over at him with a grin, Logan nodding and standing up with him.

"How can you possibly say that pistachio ice cream is better than chocolate chip cookie dough? Is there something wrong with you?" Virgil asked Logan as they walked in the park, eating their ice cream. Logan shrugged with a laugh.

"I'm not a fan of cookie dough." He said simply, and Virgil stopped walking, gasping in surprise.

"You don't like cookie dough? There has to be something wrong with you." He huffed, looking away from Logan. "I'm starting to rethink this whole dating thing. If you think pistachio ice cream is actually better than cookie dough, then I don't think we're right for each other."

"Oh, come on," Logan laughed again. "Have you ever even tried it?"

"I-well, no, but... Well, I'm positive it can't beat cookie dough!" He insisted, and Logan shook his head.

"Come on," he said, holding out his ice cream. "You have to at least try it before you say it's bad."

"Fine," Virgil huffed again, shaking his head. "But I can assure you, I am not going to like i-wow this actually isn't bad."

"See?" Logan chuckled, shaking his head. "You never know if you'll like it until you try it."

"Well it's still not better than mine, okay?" Virgil glared at him jokingly, and Logan nodded.

"Okay, whatever you say." He smiled, and the two of them continued to walk.

As Logan kept talking about something he was interested in that Virgil had asked him about, Virgil glanced over at him with a smile. He suddenly reached out to take his hand, making him stop talking to turn and look at him. Virgil's cheeks turned pink and he glanced around nervously for a moment before he finally leaned up, kissing Logan's cheek.

Logan froze completely, his face burning as he cleared his throat, looking for something to say. "U-um... What was that for...?"

"You had ice cream there," Virgil shrugged, looking away from him. His face was red, but not nearly as red as Logan's was. He definitely wasn't used to this kind of attention from anyone, although he certainly wasn't complaining.

"Right..." he muttered with a nod, staring at the ground. "We, th-thanks?"

Virgil laughed, shaking his head and looking up at him. "It's not a big deal, Logan. Sorry if I made you uncomfortable at all."

"No, you did not. It simply... caught me off guard." He explained, feeling silly for getting so nervous over a simple kiss. "I've never... well, all of this, the whole dating thing, it's completely new to me. I have no clue what I'm doing, and... well, I apologize."

Virgil frowned, taking Logan's other hand that he wasn't holding and making him face him. "Hey... I don't really know what I'm doing either. We'll figure it all out together, right?"

Logan looked down at him, Virgil staring right back with a small, comforting smile Logan couldn't help but return. He nodded slowly, and sighed. "Yeah. Alright. We'll figure it out together."
