maybe you thought that time
could provide patience,
maybe patience could provide comfort,
maybe comfort could cover your heart from dusk to dawn—
we spill words into the ocean and bottle the tears well.
you ran out of ways to lose,
so when it came time to be real
you knew exactly how to choose.
i guess it's much harder for me,
i guess it's much darker for me.
i guess it's much, much more.
how many years will i reach out to grab you?
keep my conversations far from you,
i tie you to the stars and ask for one last shine.
