"I-I didn't know", Wonwoo responds in a quiet voice, looking into her eyes. "He wanted revenge on my mother, he said it on the pin! What was I suppose to do?! Take a risk that she might be killed?!"

"But he was my brother, Wonwoo! The only person I had left! I found him after 12 years and now he's dead? We never did anything together...I didn't even say goodbye to him!", she sobs.

"He could've killed my mom!"
"Your mom killed my mom and dad! And now...Taehyung", Taehee responds, tears running down her cheeks. "You should've dug further into the facts, you should've asked Mingyu about it. But like an idiot, like your mom, you jumped to conclusions"

Wonwoo balls up his fists, clenching his jaw tightly and runs up to her, gripping onto her shoulders tightly and raises her off of the floor. He looks at her dead in the eyes, gulping loudly as tears roll down his face.

"Don't say that about my mom!", he screams.
"Your mom made it seem as if a daughter and son's father is a devil. It got to the point where their mom committed suicide. At least you still have a family left", Taehee fires back, wiping her tears away. She brushes past him quickly, walking up the stairs and slams her door shut. Wonwoo storms out of the house, putting on his shoes and jackets and slams the door shut, not caring about the rain. He doesn't know where he's going and he doesn't care.

All he wants to do is escape from reality, wanting it to all be a façade.

He ends up taking a bus to who-knows-where, not caring about the people who are giving him weird looks. Getting off, Wonwoo roams around aimlessly under the rain, his heart being dragged down from the downpour. Couples brush past him under their umbrellas, the rain not being able to penetrate their shelter, their love.

And he's envious of that-- that his love for a girl was destroyed by one mess-up, by one accident.

Wonwoo's feet slow down as they stop in front of the house, approaching the door and knocks on it, resting his forehead against it. He feels useless at the fact that he can't do anything to fix the situation with Taehee. He feels hopeless that he lost one of the most important person from his life.

How could I have fallen for her after 4 months?

"Wonwoo?"

Tears brim the poor boy's eyes as he hugs the confused girl tightly, his body becoming numb as he cries, the rain drowning out his tears but not his sadness.

"Wonwoo, what's wrong? Did you lose something important?", she asks, her voice laced with worry. He nods, his sobs becoming louder as he grips onto her shoulders tightly.

Not something, but someone.

"I...I lost her...I lost my family, Minyoung", he says in between breaths, his head pounding.

After 30 minutes, Wonwoo was finally able to calm down, finally taking a sip of his tea that Minyoung made for him. She sits beside him, her hands in her lap as she stares at her friend for many years, not knowing what to say.

"I visited Taehyung earlier today...I made sure that no one from YMC followed behind me", she exclaims quietly, breaking the frigid silence. "I-I didn't know that Taehyung was so important to you, Wonwoo"

"Mingyu is slowly getting better-- he's eating at a steady pace now and is leaving his house. He hasn't been anywhere near police station though"

I made everyone I love hurt.

"What do you mean that you lost your family? Isn't your mom family?", Minyoung asks softly, completely oblivious.

Wonwoo's grip on the cup tightens, soft cracking being heard.

"Haejin...she was never family", he states, the cup shattering in his hand.

"Wonwoo!", Minyoung yelps, running over to get paper towels to clean off the crimson blood escaping his had.

"Haejin was never my mom...she was just a stranger in my life...And the one person who I had that was my family...she left", he feels tears sting at his eyes, not being able to feel the pain in his hand.

Taehee left because it was your fault.

Like mother like son, a stupid monster that ruined your chances in love.

"I'm a monster...I have nothing", he starts to cry again, tears escaping his eyes in high speeds. Minyoung looks at Wonwoo, pulling him into a tight embrace and holds him tightly, stroking his hair.

"You aren't a monster, Wonwoo. You're anything but that-- you're a great person", she whispers in his ear, trying to comfort him

What 'great person' would kill a person's brother?

"And whoever that girl was, she was stupid to leave you, Wonwoo. The Jeon Wonwoo. You're a successful CEO, really smart and have a great personality! You helped me get a job at YMC when Taehee took my job, right?", Minyoung says, patting his back. "You're also extremely handsome, might I add"

This causes Wonwoo to chuckle dryly, pulling away from Minyoung and smiles weakly.

You don't need Taehee, Wonwoo ! You have Minyoung, your best friend who has been with you.

"Thank you, Minyoung", he says, stroking her hair.

You love Taehee, Wonwoo. There's a way to get her back. Don't lose hope.

"No problem. If it helps, I'll be your family", Minyoung smiles, putting her hands on top of his.

Minyoung is better, she's comforting you right now. What has Taehee ever done for you?

"Thank you, Yoo Minyoung"

Taehee is your family, you can fix the broken pieces. It'll just that time.

"No problem, that's what I'm here for, right? To be with you no matter what"

Minyoung deserves you, you deserve Minyoung.

"Minyoung, I have something to tell you", Wonwoo starts, breathing heavily.

Wonwoo, don't lose hope on Taehee. Don't lie to yourself. You love her, you need her. She's your world.

Minyoung smiles widely, tears forming in her eyes as she hugs Wonwoo tightly once again, her heart leaping with joy.
