Chapter 32: Streets*

Start from the beginning

"How..." She hugged B sleeping "how do I know you're not a bad person?" And they were, but I was too naive and quiet to really detect them as bad because there was a kid my age who was with him. I never saw children as bad, just confused

Also, since I've been speaking a lot more due to talking for my dad at the hospital and his funeral, I've gotten more confident in speaking a bit more when I have to

"Good point" Romeo turned away. His dad was still offering his hand "we're not going to hurt you, you know" Romeo said. She glanced at him then back at the man

"I didn't tell you my name, huh?" She shook her head "I'm Ciro, nice to meet you. We don't like saying our real names, want to make one up?"

"Make one up?" He nodded. She thought to herself, thinking of my mom when I watch her holding Serena in her arms, trying to calm her down from crying all the time. I'd watch my mom in complete serenity, wishing I can at least have her hold me once... but I never had a reason to or asked. I wanted to remember my family, and as I feel like since I've been in these streets, my life hasn't been mattering lately... in fact, it never had. She took this man's hand without even caring what would happen to her. Romeo seemed surprised that she did this

"I'm Serenity..." Ciro smiled

"That was fast" Romeo said. Ciro helped her up and gave her hand to Romeo. Romeo freaked out when she stared at him holding her hand. I didn't know what happened when Ciro did that

"It's your job to take care of her" he said

"M-me!?" Ciro nodded and lead us somewhere. Young me looked up at Romeo turning all red, trying to look tough when holding her hand "f-fine! L-let's go! I'll make sure the others won't give you trouble"

"Others..?" Seconds passed and I was on my way to my fate. The moon started quaking. Everything around me slowly started breaking apart, symbolizing my insecurities and silence was breaking at this point. The only thing that remained the same on this place was the hideout...

Younger me didn't know what she was putting myself into, but she went along with it and stayed with 20 men and 13 women in a gang for the pass 5 years of her life. Ciro was the one who introduced me to everyone in the street corner with a secret door kept within it, that's where everyone stayed when all they have in mind are crimes and drugs. During the years, I gotten stronger and tougher, even worked out. Everyone who looked down at me in the gang didn't even think I would grow up to have them cowering when I'd stare at them in a way that showed how easily pissed I'd get

The kinds of jobs Ciro gave out were intense and highly dangerous, which included kidnapping, bribing, assassinate, human trafficking, intimidate, stealing, fighting, and so many things I didn't really want to get involved in, mainly because it wasn't my style and I didn't care. Ciro didn't really mind me not doing much, since I was very good at hacking, which was useful to the gang for break ins and personal information

My fashion consist of things the women of the gang provided for me. I came to like the taste and always wore black and baggy clothing. I didn't really like wearing a shirt a lot, so I was seen a lot with wraps around my breast and the large jacket or hoodie with no sleeves.

I was 16 now, and spend 5 years in a gang that was very family oriented and supported each other. Even if everyone pretty much stood together as a team, I was still very much to myself. I had many women teaching me about the ways of womanhood, and for that I was grateful to have them when my mom wasn't around. Though she or Serena didn't know anything of what I was doing, I pretended like everything was okay
