Chapter 6 - Lucy breaks

 Ian Pov

During our break, Lucy decided to check her phone. As soon as she did I saw her body tense and stiffen. I kept a watch full eye observing her every move carefully.When she finally looked up I locked my eyes with hers. All the joy, happiness and life was gone. Her hazel eyes were dull and lifeless while her beautiful smile had vanished.

"Lucy are you okay," I asked with a worried expression, but she just nodded her head and attempted to carry on with the scene. I could see she was surrounded by thoughts, slowly drowning in front of my very own eyes and I couldn't do anything to help as she wouldn't let me in.

For the rest of the scene, she kept forgetting her lines and stuttering when the words finally did come out. Everyone seemed concerned at the sudden change in Lucy therefore after attempting to speak to Lucy but only receiving a couple of small nods Marlene called it a day.

"that's a cut for today go home and rest everyone. Ian could I speak to you for a moment." Marlene asked with hesitation in her voice as I nodded my head and walked over in confusion.

"please speak to Lucy and take her home.I can see something's bothering here and your the one she trusts the most." she spook quietly so only I could hear.

I followed her direction and walked towards Lucy who was standing in silence. I placed my hand on her shoulder and slowly lead her out to her dressing room without any objections.For the whole walk, we were silent and Lucy's eyes remained on the ground.

When we reached her dressing room and I closed the door behind us she let go of everything within her and burst into tears slowly falling to the ground .my hand grabbed her wrist and slowly I sank to the ground with her ."shh it's will be okay. I'm here for you I'm not going to leave you. I pulled her into my arms comforting her small fragile body.

Lucy had been acting strong for me, she wanted to help me move on but internally she was broken and had been hiding everything until now. If I had known something was wrong I could have helped her but I didn't as I myself was struggling and I needed her and I were too blind to see her breaking.

Right now she looked so vulnerable. Her breath was heavy and her body was uncontrollably shaking as the tears streamed down her face. I wrapped my arms around her body like she had done for me.I whipped the tears away from her face.

She muttered a small "thank you " between whimpers as she buried her head in my chest and keep crying. .I was slowly rubbing her back in a circular motion as her breathing began to return to normal. When she had finally calmed down I scooped her up off the floor as her grip on my shirt tightened and I gently placed her on the couch and I sat next to her.

Her head was still buried into my chest so I took my hand and slowly tilted her chin up with my knuckle so she was looking directly at me. "do you want to tell me what happened luc?"I questioned but as soon as the words left my lips she broke down again so I pulled her into a tight hug while kissing the top of the head.

I slowly began rocking with Lucy in my arms. Her body slowly began to relax as she dozed off. Even though she is so broken she's beautiful especially now asleep and calm. I kept my arms around Lucy's petite frame and I quietly let my feelings escape my mouth "I love you "I said before I too fell asleep cradling the woman of my dreams.

Lucy's POV

I awoke in the arms of Ian, who was sleeping peacefully and was resting his head on my head. I felt safe and comfortable in his arms. He is the one I trust the most, I knew he would always be there when I need him.

I didn't want to wake him so I slowly shifted in his grip removing his arm from my shoulder and sat up leaning again the arm of the couch. I looked over at Ian who had a soft smile on his face as his chest rose and fell with every breath. I knew I had to tell him about what happened and I wanted to as I trusted him.I needed to let everything within me out and Ian would be there for me. Ian deserves to know.

I kept observing Ian for the next ten minutes until he woke up. I kept staring at him and as soon as his deep blue eyes opened his gaze turned to me he looked worried ." hey goose is everything okay "he said raising his hand to gently tilt my head up as I attempted to hide the stray tear.

"it's Anthony, "I said in a whisper but Ian hear and his sweet eyes instantly changed overcome by anger and hatred. Ian never approved of Anthony, however, knowing that I was happy he didn't object.

"what did he do to you Lucy, please tell me I can't bear to see you like this " as the words left his mouth tears escaped my eyes as I finally felt loved. His gentle hand rose to my check where he wiped away the tears soothing my heated face.

"h-h-he bro-ke up with me ...and..." I couldn't bear to say it out loud as it felt unreal, I kept hoping this was a dream but I knew I had to face the reality.

"Lucy it's okay just tell me what he did I'll be here for you no matter what " Ian now looked concerned and I could see all the possibilities running through his mind.

I needed to get this out

"He ...He cheated on me.." and as the words left my lips I could no longer hold myself together it was all too much so I broke down.Ian held my hands and guided me into his lap where his hands held my fragile body tightly again his chest and I buried myself in him.

I kept crying with no control soaking Ian's shirt

"Lucy everything will be okay.Anthony never deserved you. You were too good for him " Ian's words were soft and soothing as he kept hold of my shaking body.

Even though Ian was speaking from his heart I could not get Anthony's words out of my mind. I was worthless.
