writer's block ... what is that?

writer's block

Writer's block is a condition, primarily associated with writing, in which an author loses the ability to produce new work, or experiences a creative slowdown. The condition ranges in difficulty from coming up with original ideas to being unable to produce a work for years.

I have never had writer's block

i have no idea what it is

i am sure many suffer from this affliction and i imagine it is painful

especially for writers

I personally have a condition i like to call

WRITER'S GLUT

I simply write too fucking much

i write too many poems

too many stories

my mind never shuts down

i often sit in front of the computer

staring at a blank page

but not because i can't think of anything to write

but

because i have too many ideas going through my head

honestly

if you could see my scribbled ideas

i have file boxes full of them

and my brain must look like this

so the next time you think you have writers block

have fun with it

and write something about having writers block

you will be surprised how quickly you will start writing again

and think about poor old me

i simply don't have enough time to even post all the stuff i have written

i have some 4000 pages that have never seen this site

stuff i wrote as a teenager

maybe one day i will post it all

I write a lot but I get writers block whenever I'm midway through my stories and it's hard to finish them. Then I just write short stories to pass time and just write something, 'cause if I don't put my thoughts into words, I think I'd probably go crazy.

I do lose patience with editing but head hop between projects- poems, short stories and editing when I cannot write anything new. I doubt i will ever fair up all the rough drafts and outlines i write. but hey, if one can't write (has a writes block) just walk away do something else till you feel like it. I don't understand why the writers block is such a big deal really! Doing chores like laundry , dishes, or taking a long walk is the break (or punishment) might be all the mind needs to get back to writing, rathe than fretting about it :P as you said I don't get writers block, I just take a break and get back to it.
