Finally, the weekend was just a few hours away, mia had waited restlessly for it. She needed to distract herself a bit from all the drama going on in her life right now. Nate was becoming extra clingy and demanding.

He had been killing her with gifts and surprise visits in the last 24hours since their little talk. He made sure she couldn't reject any of his gifts. Her house was filled with new stuff, from the furniture to the electronics all replaced. It was driving her nuts.

It was like he was trying to buy her love. To make her love him the way he wanted. He was so irresponsible with money nowadays ,and it annoyed her to no end. Where was the responsible guy she met in college_gone.

Not to mention_Chris. She hadn't seen him since he apologized except for the few texts he sent here and there. She wouldn't admit it but she missed him. She couldn't help but feel like she pushed him too hard. it had been just 24 hours.

How he got her number, she didn't know, what to say to his texts she didn't know either but she longed for his texts even if they were just heartfelt questions. "Hey,its Chris....how was work today, hope you've eaten"

Earlier today, she had found her self occasionally turning towards his office only to be disappointed by it's emptiness. Every time she had a text, she would grab her phone excitedly only to see its Nate.

But she told herself things were better this way, with Chris out of her life. He had been back for just 2 weeks and he was already disturbing her thoughts.

She shoved her Jean pants in her bag as she zipped it up. She was finally done with packing for the weekend. She had to leave in 30 minutes if she was going to get there on time. Fox hood creak was almost a 90 minutes drive away from the city with traffic.

Fox hood creak was her moms home town where her grandma always resided until a few weeks ago when her mom moved there to take care of her grandma whose health wasn't too good.

She packed a few sandwiches and a water bottle as she headed out the front door into her white car. She hated driving and so she only did on few occasions when she really needed it.

She dumped her fully packed bag in the back seat as she got a new text.

Mom- honey its getting late ,where are you.

She rolled her eyes, her mom always treated her like she was some little kid. She smiled putting the key in the ignition as she replied to her moms text.

Mia - I'm on my way...be there in a while.

Mom - drive safely.

She zoomed off.
So far the drive was boring and tiring. She reached for her sandwich and she brought it to her mouth for a bite.

She glanced at her watch,it was already 6:34. Meaning she'd been driving for 60 minutes already and there was no traffic. She had taken a wrong path. Obviously.

She was supposed to be there by now. She looked at the road ahead ,it didn't seem like she recognized it. She didn't get it,she had come here lots of times before how come she didn't recognize anything.

She pulled over and looked around the narrow road. It seemed like no one has been around here for decades. The road was totally covered with dead leaves from nearby trees. The leaves made the road hardly visible and creepy.

Mia signed exhaustedly. She was lost. This was clearly not the same road she usually took. She started the car again as she reversed her trail.

She moved for a while until she saw a broken sign which she clearly missed earlier. It stated "welcome to fox hood cr.." As the remaining letters had broken off completely.
