Shiny Rod

I woke up and jumped out of bed making sure no to wake Aero, rubbing my eyes, I walked to the window and opened the curtains slightly to peek outside. The sun was just rising into beautiful orange and pink colours. I took the beanie off my head swiftly as I checked everyone was asleep

"Owww" I whined quietly due to my cramped ears shooting up. I rubbed them softly with my thumb trying to massage them out slightly. I sighed happily and my ears relaxed along with me, I flick Aero's paw lightly making him growl.

I giggled and swooped him up in my arms holding him like a baby. He made a noise of disapproval and flipped over onto his belly snuggling into me. I smiled lightly and walked out of our room with my hairbrush and beanie in hand. I walked outside and shivered at the cold wind blowing across my skin but paid no attention to it. I sat Aero in my lap and started to brush my h/l, h/c hair softly. Aero yawned and stood up stretching

"Morning, sleeping beauty" I said rolling my e/c eyes playfully. He barked happily and I looked at him amused "that wasn't a compliment" I said patting his head. He barked and pouted "we'll go run around a bit, we're gonna be stuck in classes for ages" I said distastefully, Aero groaned and walked around a bit. I brushed my hair as Aero played and I sighed seeing people were going to wake up soon. I quickly changed my brush out for his and called him over

"Aero!" I called in a normal voice. He rushed over to me and sat in my lap waiting for his fur to be brushed. He hates it but I always force him to let me brush his fur in the end, so he just wants to get it over with. I brushed his fur gently, trying hard to not get caught in any knots before I untangle them.

I quickly finished up and scooped him into my arms walking back to the room. I sighed closing the door not really wanting to do anything at the moment and decided to put on my beanie before anyone wakes up. I used a spell to change the rest of my clothing into the school's uniform. I sighed and jumped on the hammock dangerously, and grabbed a book from the shelf next to me.

I opened it and started reading happily. Aero took this opportunity to jump off the ground, onto the hammock, onto my back, and onto my head, slowly reading the book along with me. When I got to the end of every two pages, I paused for a few minutes so Aero had time to catch up with my speed reading. I sighed and decided I'd read out loud so Aero and I would be on the same page

"The dragon stole the princess out of the tower and she screamed for help helplessly" I started, Aero barked bored "yeah I know dragons aren't even that bad, but even if they were the princess should've grabbed a sword and fought back! And screamed for 'help helplessly' that's just sad" He barked in agreement "but, it's pretty entertaining so, I'm gonna keep reading" I said my eyes trained on the book. I continued for a few minutes and got...extremely invested in the story

"NO!" I cried, waking up Sucy "Princess Nikki why would you do that!?" I yelled crying. Sucy sighed and went over to the desk in front of the window and started to 'extract the poison out of the cockatrice feather'. I rolled my eyes amused and kept reading the book, we just stayed like that for a bit. Me reading and her... extracting poison from a feather

I groaned as Nikki was being a spoilt brat again. You were kidnapped by a DRAGON and you want to go to a fancy restaurant to eat. 'What's wrong with this girl?' I thought annoyed

"You idiot! The dragon's trying to be nice!" I yelled at the book, I think I woke Akko up but I decided to keep ranting angrily about how stupid princess Nikki was being.

"Oh that's right!" Akko yelled. I stopped mid rant and looked at Akko confused as she jumped from her bed and lifted the mattress to reveal Shiny Rod. Akko's eyes glimmer in delight

"Shiny Rod!" Akko exclaimed "it wasn't just a dream" Akko said happily hugging the Shiny Rod to her face in a daze "I'm finally here at Luna Nova Academy!" She said almost squealing "I did it!" She cheered throwing her hands in the air, almost whacking me in the face with the Shiny Rod "yay!" She yelled happily, which woke up Lotte 'whelp at least I didn't wake everyone up' I thought amused.

"Morning Lotte" I said nodding at her, she nodded back yawning

"Good morning, Lotte! Look!" Akko said lifting the hand with the Shiny Rod in it, so Lotte could look at it. Lotte slowly put on her glasses and looked at Akko tiredly

"Did you say that was the shiny rod?" Lotte asked already knowing the answer

"Yes!" Akko yelled in Lotte's face, making Lotte jump back in shock

"Yeah, you told us at least 100 times" Sucy said simply, and continued with her supposedly deadly chemicals

"Shiny Chariot's magic wand!" Akko said, cheerfully looking at the Shiny Chariot poster she had on the wall beside her bed "I don't know why it was in the forest, but until I see her again, I'll keep it for her" Akko said looking down happily at the rod in her hands "with this wand, I feel like I can do any magic!" Akko said excited "bed, fly!" She commanded, I blinked

"Akko it doesn't work like that" I said shaking my head. She looked at me with determination and pointed the wand at me

"(y/n), levitate!" She commanded, I looked her in the eye, purely made of boredom at the moment. I got my wand out and pointed it at her

"Akko you can't command something to happen if it doesn't want to happen. It's like me saying 'Akko, fly to London and then walk the rest of the way back', it doesn't work that way" I said lecturing her, Akko gasped

"Try saying that!" She said, I rolled my eyes and swished my wand

"Akko.." I said briefly "fly to London and walk the rest of the way back" I said bored. When nothing happened I looked at Akko smugly "see? Won't happen" I said putting my wand back in my belt. Akko huffed angrily and tried to get other thing to move with the Shiny Rod.

I sighed and watched Sucy turn a spider into crystal. My eyes widen and I gave her a thumbs up when she looked at me. I looked at the position of the sun and decided I don't want to be late

"Guys, get dressed, and hurry up or we'll be late for class" I said simply. Lotte gasps and looks at the time

"Class!?" Akko asks her eyes lighting up happily. I look at Akko in shock

"Wait!" I say confused "you want to go to class!?"
