Chapter 106 - I Love Her Too!

"She's my baby sister." I repeat. "You expect me to just sit here....Whilst you plan her caree? Her life?" I add.

"Yes." She nods.

"Your team almost got her killed!" I hiss.

"Yes. My team." She says. "I was on holiday in Spain with you when the planning happened." She states. "I didn't know they would try to kill her!" She adds as she tries to pull her wrist away but I keep a tight hold of it. "Jay, I am on your side." She says softly.

There's not a doubt in my head about that. Rose and I have been best friends since I got kicked out of my home in California. I trust Rose with my life, hell we would die for eachother that's how close we are!

"I know." I sigh. "I...I'm scared for her." I state and let go off her wrist before I run my fingers through my hair.

"Has she got some of her memory back?" She asks, making me shake my head. "Then there is no need to be scared, love." She says. "I'm saying this in the nicest way possible. Tessa doesn't remember anything about Marshall which is good because then...She will stick to contract." She shrugs slightly.

"There has to be a way to get her out of the contract." I say, making Rose sigh.

"I told you. There is no way out of this." She mumbles before she walks past me and out of the kitchen.

"There has to be." I say as I stand up and follow her out the kitchen and towards the stairs. Rose lets out a sigh as she stops at the last step and turns to face me.

"I swore to you that I would keep her safe from now on." She states, making me sigh as I look away from her. "I wasn't part of the last meeting...The one before the attack because we were on holiday but from now on, I will be attending every single one. I'll make sure she's safe. I swear to you Jay." She says, making me nod in response.

"Okay." I sigh.

"You look tired." She mumbles. "Get some rest after your dinner. I'll see you in the morning." She adds as she kisses my cheek and turns her back towards me. "Go eat, Jay." She says when I start to follow her up the stairs.

"I'm not hungry anymore." I shrug. "But I'll see you tomorrow, love." I say as I start to take off my jacket.

"Okay." She nods as we stop infront of our own rooms. Just when Rose is about to walk into her room which is across mine, she stops in her tracks and turns to face me.

"What's up?" I say slowly.

"Nicklaus....You remember him right? Nicklaus Demore." She says as she looks up at me.

"The guy who used to date my sister?" I say and watch her nod. "Yeah. I know him. You told me he's part of the contract since he's Tessa's lawyer and since he signed the contract." I shrug.

"Well..." She says slowly. "Have you been talking to him?" She asks, making my heart beat faster and faster.

"We exchanged a few words when we met at the hospital, yeah." I shrug and lean my back against the wall.

Rose and I tell eachother everything and when I say everything, I mean every single thing...Well, every single things apart from this. Just imagine how hard it is for me to lie to her.

"About what?" She asks.

"I don't know. I forgot." I lie. "We hadn't talked ever since I left so we were just saying hi and talking about Tessa." I say slowly. Out of us brothers, I was always good at lying but when it comes to my best friend Rose, I find it hard to come up with lies. "Why are you asking me this anyway?" I ask.
