I have an antique Pedler clarinet now! And it may be around seventy or eighty years old, with some limited research it might have been made in the 1930's or 40's. The keys work, as far as I can tell. I don't think the bell comes off like modern clarinets, and it weighs a bit more, too. But that is so cool!
I am so happy! And when we went to get it at an auction house (for $32, it rightly should have costed in the five hundreds), I thought it was a kind of bass flute, as I know flutes can come in bigger sizes and different octaves, even though I knew what we were getting.
I might be learning clarinet once we sent it to be cleaned and repaired! I'm excited! ♪

I think I know how to do a rough B♭  scale on it now. The high C is a bit weird, though, because it uses all the fingers. But this is fun! We've ordered reeds and I just need to clean the mouthpiece (which I keep accidentally calling a headjoint, yay flutes).
