There's a boy standing there–
long blonde hair,
dark forest eyes,
a malevolent persistence.
A ghost in the night,
crawling up the warm bodies,
stalked tall and weathered.
The trees of life.
Fire in his breath,
a deep connection between
each fortunate victim,
and nothing left.
But there's a hole in the sky–
red and tangled,
a consuming mess,
dancing along to his tune.
