All was calm, for what felt like months given current circumstances, but I knew it had only been a week or two. Sam and I had hardly left eachothers side, partially because he was the one training me on how to fight vampires, and partially, because we were both terrified at what could happen, when I fight Vlad. He was adamant about not talking about it, and focusing on training, but I could feel the hurt he felt every time I even so much as mentioned Vlad. I also felt his fear as my own, he knew why Vlad hadn't attacked again yet, but he wouldn't tell me.

"Sam, you know our bond is stronger than ever, I know you're terrified, what is Vlad planning?" I asked, covered in sweat and dirt as we were in the middle of a training session.

"That is none of your concern, the colony and I are handling it."

"I know you're worried about me, and you don't want me to be scared, but you have to let me know, if he manages to go through with whatever has taken him two weeks so far, don't you think it might cause a bit of trouble?" I asked, my arms now crossed over my chest.

"That's why he won't be able to do so." Was his flat response, though I could tell he was starting to get annoyed.

"Sam, I'm a big girl, look whatever has you so scared, I promise I won't go running for the hills if you tell me, I will stay, and I will fight, I have to believe that the gods chose me for a reason, to be their champion, but if I go into battle, without all the intel I could have had, that COULD cause me to lose." I argued.

He seemed to contemplate what I had said for a moment, as he crossed his arms over his chest and stared at the ground, he let out a sigh, before answering, "fine, you've heard about other dimensions?"

His question left me quite puzzled, but I nodded my head slightly, remembering that my father had told me a bit about them, though not much.

"Okay, then you also know that for everyone in this dimension, there is someone in the other dimensions, your dopple ganger, if you will, he has went to another dimension, in search of his, and, Nidhogg, that's why I've been training you so hard, we will have to be able to beat two different Vlad's, and Nidhogg, IF the forces I sent aren't capable of destroying the portal he used to go there."

"Woah, but can't he just go to all the dimensions, gathering up an army of himself?" I couldn't help but ask, getting a sense of dread in my stomach.

"No, if he were to do that, it would cause such a disturbance to the balance of space and time, because of how many different portals he would have to make, that the dimensions would all collapse in on themselves, the world would cease to exist, he doesn't want to end the world, he wants to rule it. Not only that, traveling to another dimension takes a serious toll on your body, and a WHOLE lot of magic, to be honest he probably used some of your blood in the ritual to do so, given you are currently the most powerful magical being in this dimension, and, if that portal is closed, he would be someone elses problem, you can only travel through a portal that was made in whichever dimension you are from, and you never know where you're going to be dropped off in the other dimension either."

"So, he's basically over there, looking for the other version of himself? Why don't we just gather the troops and attack whoever is keeping the portal open?" I couldn't help but ask, though it was probably a stupid question.

"He thought of that, there is a powerful force field around them, I've gathered every mystical creature we have, even a few who are just learning how to control magic, nothing is working, and, given how quickly Vlad can travel, considering he has the ability to not only fly, but teleport, he may have already found his dopple ganger, as well as Nidhogg."

"But, you don't have me, you said that he probably used my blood in order to open the portal, what if I am powerful enough to destroy the force field?"

"I admit, i have thought about it, but it's too risky, he could have some sort of trap for if we manage to break through, you being there, and getting caught in said trap, could destroy any chances of us defeating him, it's best if you stay here and train." He replied, and I could tell there was something that he still was refusing to tell me.

"Sam, there's something else, I know it, what aren't you telling me?" I asked, my voice faltering slightly at the end.

"Well, I guess I don't have much of an option," Sam hung his head low, as if defeated, "Sarah, have you heard of Crocea Mors, also known as the yellow death?"

"I think so, if I'm right it was used by Julius Caesar?" I asked.

"Yes, but there is more to it than that, the sword fell from the heavens crafted by the gods themselves, anyone who wields it, can not be slain, and even a scratch from the blade is fatal, if it lands on your skin, you are certain to die, my sources say that Vlad now has the sword, it has been used in many battles since it's creation, he plans on taking not just Britain, but the world, and if he defeats you, he might just succeed."

"We, we can't just wait around here then, I'm going to the portal, I have to try to close it, if he manages to get his and Nidhogg's dopple gangers out of there, then we wont have a chance, especially if that sword really is all powerful."

He let out a long sigh, "you're not gonna' take no for an answer, are you?" He asked.

"Nope, look I really don't know why I was the one chosen to defeat him, I don't know why the moon goddess gave me her powers, or why my life was the one that had to be this freaking complicated, but I was chosen for a reason, Sam. You have to believe that as well as I do, I know that I can defeat Vlad, I can feel it, but I want you to have faith in me as well."

"I do it's just, when I saw you unleash that power, showing me just how much more powerful you are than anyone else I have ever known, and then fall from the sky, practically lifeless, it felt like my heart stopped, you nearly died, Sasha, I can't lose you. And then, to be kept from you by that monster!" His eyes were now black, his hands clenched into fists so hard that his nails were digging into his palms, causing a few drops of blood to hit the ground.

"Sam, it's okay." I replied as I held onto him, trying to calm him down, he took in a few deep breaths as he held me firmly against him.

"I'm sorry, I just, I can't lose you, not again. But if you really wish to go to the portal, to see what you can do about the force field, then we can go, but I am still firmly against it."

"Okay, let's go." Was my response, just before shifting into my tigreign form, flying just behind him through the morning sky, in the clouds, it seemed so peaceful, but in my gut, I knew it, in my bones, I felt it, this was nothing more than the quiet, before the storm. A war was coming, one that would change history, change the world, and if we didn't win, all would be lost.

A/N: Okay, just to make sure there isn't any confusion, when someone travels to another dimension, the toll taken on their body is because you are LITERALLY traveling through space, think of it as trying to force yourself through a wall. Time is the same throughout the dimensions, two weeks in one dimension is two weeks in another, and he would not be able to go back to his dimension were the portal to close, because there are infinite dimensions, and to get back to his, he would literally have to go through all of them, until he FINALLY reached his, and by that point the damage taken by his body would basically turn him into dust.
