At 17,Mia was sure she didn't just have a crush on Chris,she knew she felt something more, something she couldn't explain, so powerful that she was sure it was love.

Everything would have been perfect if only he didn't look at her that way. She was happy even if he only acknowledged her as his best friend, only got to hear his voice and see him smile on a daily basis.

Her only hope was that one day he would come to love her and perhaps look at her the way she wanted him to. Unfortunately, everything took a drastic turn when Sophia showed up in their lives.

She easily got Chris to fall for her and Mia was devastated and jealous. She had never seen Chris being so romantic towards any of his previous girlfriends. He was literally drooling over Sophia.

In a matter of weeks,they had started dating and Mia was tossed aside. She still had hope that he was just playing around with Sophia so she went head on, demanding a confirmation from him about his feelings for Sophia but was shocked by his answer.

"I like her a lot,i think I love her...I don't know ,I cant explain it.....have you ever felt like you couldn't live without someone....that's how I feel...its so new to me considering the number of girls I've dated all my life,I'm just so happy that I'm her boyfriend"

She wanted to scream "yes that's how I feel about you ,I love you " but her lips were sealed,she couldn't speak because it would hurt more.

Mia continued to watch them in the side lines hoping one day it would be her in Sophia's place. He would come late to their usual hangouts ,cancel their movie nights, miss her rehearsals, miss family thanksgiving to be with Sophia and he almost missed Christmas .

She hardly saw him ever since he started dating Sophia. His parents complained and were always asking her of his whereabouts but she would cover up for him every single time.

Sophia on the other hand was what you could call,a modernday mannerless slut who made everything go her way.

She was fascinated by chris's looks and his undeniable charisma but not for long. All She needed was a temporary plaything who would be on her every beck and call whenever,wherever and however she wanted.

As young as she was,she already had as much men drooling over her,and she chose to keep every single one of them for fun. They were quite aware that she was still an eighteen year old high school senior but they didn't care,well most of them.

Among her numerous partners was Stephan,Chris's twenty two year old stepbrother who did nothing but pick fights and arguments with him.

They had never gotten along since the first day they met mainly because of Stephan's childish tendencies to cause big disagreements.

As neighbours, Mia and chris had their houses aligned side by side in such a way that they could see each others rooms from a close look out their windows.

It was so easy that they could always exchange 'hellos' and 'good nights' whenever they wanted to.

One evening at about 6pm, Mia was a little lonely,she had already tried calling Chris but his phone was switched off. By chance,She glanced outside her window into Chris' bedroom only to find two passionate figures making out on the couch next to his bed.
