Chapter 9

There was a knock on my door. I quickly shuffled to open the door. It was Lucas!

As I opened the door my smile grew. His eyes gave off a glint of amusement as he watched me examine him. His clothes tightly rung around his body showing of his athletic build. I bit my lip staring into his eyes.

"Hi love" He said in a fake, terrible British accent. I cringed my nose, exposing my dimples on each cheek. "I love when you do that."

I shook my head, wavering myself out of my daydreaming state. I stood straight, giggled and spoke in a southern accent. "What can I do for you sir?" I asked tipping an imaginary hat.

"I was wondering if my girlfriend would do me the great pleasure, and accompany me on a picnic." That's right, Lucas and I have dated for almost a week, we really like each other. Not like we could help it.

"I'll have to check her schedule" I pretended to flip through a invisible agenda book. "Nope, she has a full day of spending time with her boyfriend, you have to come back later."

He smiled and linked arms with me as I locked my door. "Boy am I lucky to have you!"

I smirked and pretended to scold him. "Yes you are, and don't forget it."

He lightly chuckled "Don't worry I won't."

We arrived at a beautiful meadow hidden by trees. Our skin glowed as the sun peered through a tree and hit our skin. I closed my eyes and breathed in the fresh air until I felt a tug on my arm.

"Lets eat here, you seem to like it. And plus I packed your favorite." He sat down and began unpacking the picnic basket. What could be my favorite snack?

"What?"

When he finished unpacking, he pulled me on his lap and pulled out two red bottles.He shook them in my face."Blood."

"Haha, you know that's everybodies favorite."

Lucas shook his head. "Honestly, not everyone just vampires."

I laughed "You know what I mean't." I scanned the meadow. "How do you find this place?"

"I've been around for awhile, I know lots of places." He replied scrunching his eyebrows up and down. I giggled.

The assembly bells rang by the time I was halfway through my bottle. My gaze shifted from Lucas to the school and started packing up. "I guess we should go, it might be important." He nodded.

I sat in the royal section next to my siblings and my boyfriend. We watched as my dad walked on stage, holding my mothers hand.

"Thank you for coming today, I will be telling the rest of the kingdom later but you all will be the first to hear the excellent news." Then it came, the news that made me jump out of my seat excited. "On Saturday April 1st, two months from now, my lovely fiancé and I are getting married. You all are invited." I screamed inside my head and squeezed Lucas's hand to show him how excited I was.

My mother walked forward, towards us, and squatted on the stage. "Luna and Beth I want you to be my bride's mates." She turned to the boys. "And Jacob, Tristan, and Elijah You all are your father's best men." Everybody clapped and cheered, we stood up to our parents and bowed. My father and my mother bowed back.
