I walked through Soho with Lisa as we tried to locate an art supply store she just had to go to.
It was a fairly cool day in October for us to be walking around.

"What exactly do you need Lisa?"

"Everything!" She laughed.

"You excited about one class aren't you?"

"Two classes Jay!"

"Why you waited this long to get supplies?"

"We're just now starting with the real hands on work"

"Look at you gleaming with excitement"

"You have no idea" she laughed.

"So the other day, I was at Dave's and guess who stopped by"

"Mia?" Lisa eyed me.

"No, Bully"

"Ugh, can we not" she waved me off.

"I only brought him up because of something he said about you"

"What his ass said?"

"He said and I quote 'I always hoped that she'd go to art school, she got mad skills' .. I thought that was nice"

Lisa looked at me with little to no expression at all. But I knew her mind was racing with thoughts.

"I didn't know he knew about you and your art"

"Yeah, I painted something for him once, as a gift" she rolled her eyes.

"What you painted?" I laughed.

"My self, naked" she laughed.

"No fucking way"

"Just my back side"

"Please tell me you were 18"

"Ha! 19 actually"

"Wow, must have been really good, to have him still talking about you like that"

"Girl, bye... Did he send you?" She eyed me.

"Don't you even try it, he just made that comment and it threw me off"

"I'm sure"

"I wonder how many kids he has now"

"Two" she rolled her eyes.

"Oh, so someone's been doing their homework"

We finally entered the art supply store and walked towards the back to look at brushes first.

"No, I've seen him around, a little girl and boy"

"Oh that's cute, has he stopped and talked to you"

"No, I don't think he even notice I be around"

"Oh girl, you be doing the most" I laughed.

"Yeah you don't even know" she laughed.

"So what do you really need?" I looked through all the brushes, changing the subject.

"Some new brushes, some paint, definitely pencils and erasers. I also need paper, of every class"

"How you bringing this back to Harlem?" I laughed.

"Lyft" she rolled her eyes.

"I could call Dave, you should have told me Mami wasn't doing anything today" I offered.

"Girl we fine, we took in the breeze, walked and talked"

"Your right" I laughed.
