It Started With A Punch (COMPLETE)

Chapter 16

"What's with you?" I asked Jace as I dropped my bag on the couch

"Nothing" he said, hesitating for a while. I just rolled my eyes

"So, how's Angela doing?" I asked. He jerked his head, signaling me to follow him up to Angela's room.

"Good. She's kind of getting better now" Jace answered. He slightly opened the door to Angela's room to give me a peep inside, where Angela was taking a nap. 

Jace closed the door after a few more seconds and we headed downstairs.

"So" he started after we plopped down the couch and turned on the TV "Did I miss anything in school today? I mean, aside from lessons, practice"

"Not that I know of" I answered.

The next hours composed of complete silence. We had small talks, but didn't really elaborate anything further.

At around 8, Angela woke up. I helped Jace feed Angela, and let her drink her medicine, then she went back to sleep. A few fix here and there, and I decided that it was time for me to go home.

"Got home yet?" Adam texted. I was on the first stage of sleep when my phone lit up and every single sleep hormones I had were completely gone.

yep, already in bed BTW  I replied

My phone didn't beep nor light up, and I took that as a sign to go to sleep. 

That is, until 5 minutes later.

"Hello?" I answered in my sleepy voice

"Hey. I'm so sorry I didn't... I didn't know you were sleeping... I--" I cut him off with a giggle

"Adam! Calm down. I wasn't completely asleep..." I told him

"O-oh...Good" he replied

"So, what's up?" I asked

"Uh... just... called to remind you that... I'll be over tomorrow by 7-ish..."

"Wait... so, you were serious about that?" I asked, sleepiness completely out of my system

"Of course I was" Adam answered, and I could feel that that cocky smirk of his just formed on his face.

"Okay, fine" I said

"Fine" he said in a girly voice, which made me giggle

"Fine, whatever. I'm going to bed. Goodnight" I told him

"Okay, me too. Goodnight, sweet dreams Gabriella" he said then hung up. Gabriella...

There was a honk right outside my house, and at that moment, I already knew who it was. And to add up to the rush I was currently having, putting my pants on was suddenly a hard thing to do.

"GABBY! Why the hell is Shay outside--WHOA! I DIDN'T SEE ANYTHING!!!" Nick, who was still in his boxers, by the way, said as he opened my door. The moment he saw me struggling to fit into my pants, he immediately closed the door

"DIDN'T MOM EVER TEACH YOU HOW TO KNOCK?!?!?!" I shouted through the door as I zipped my pants up. Oh, thank god! 

I hurriedly put on my shoes then grabbed my bag and headed out the door, where Nick was standing outside my room, hugging himself like a mental patient traumatized for the rest of his life.

"What the hell are you doing there? You're gonna be late!" I said as I walked past him and went downstairs

"Well, Shay's taking you to school, so... why do you care?!" he answered. I rolled my eyes at my brother's immaturity

"Whatever! I gotta go, so, go upstairs and take a shower NOW! You only have, like, 30 minutes to prepare for school!" I told Nick as I slowly walked over to the door. Nick groaned and headed upstairs. I just shook my head and got out of the door and walked, or rather, leaped over to Adam's car.

"Took you long enough" Adam said

"Sorry. I had to...deal with my baby brother.." I answered, and Adam smirked

"Nick gonna miss driving to school with you?" Adam said making me laugh

"Unfortunately" I answered. Adam shook his head, then chuckled

"How about me then?" I turned my head to look at Adam, who was busy driving with his full attention on the road

"What about you?" I asked with my eyebrows arched up.

"I need your love and care" he said

"So... you need me to wake you up every morning and tell you that you need to go get dressed or else you'll be late for school?" I asked Adam. He grinned.

"Not that kind of love and care" both my eyebrows rose up even more. And with that rising act, was a smile that unconsciously formed across my face.
