"Honey are you okay??" mom asked, enveloping me in a tight hug the moment I got home.

"Uh yeah mom. Why wouldn't I be?" I said, my mom letting me go immediately and stared into my eyes

"Nick said you were called into the principal's office. What happened? Are you okay?" mom continuously asked, making me groan a bit.

"Mom, I told you I'm fine." I said "Couldn't say the same thing about this one guy though" I said as I let out a snort. And exactly dad walks in on us

"What did you do?" he asked with a curious look across his face. He dropped the bag of KFC then crossed his arms and stared at me.

"Uh.." If this was any other time, I'd look at Nick and ask help, but again, for the third time, he's not here. "He, uh, he kind of..." I started, trying my best to prevent myself from staring back into my dad's gaze.

"She punched the lights out of one of the jocks in school" we all turned around to see Nick, who just walked in.

Mom and dad looked back at me, as mom gasped and covered her mouth with both her hands

"You... punched a guy?!" dad asked, making me look down

"Gabriela Jane Anderson!" You're grounded for the rest of your life! Get on with it, mom.

"I am taking you for pizza tomorrow night" my eyes shot up to meet with my dad's, who was staring at me with a huge smile on his face like he just won the lottery.

"What?" me and Nick asked in chorus

"Jerry!" my mom snapped

"What? My daughter punched some guy!" my dad said, making me grin like crazy.

Thank god I'm not in trouble! "And here I thought, you'll grow up to be one of those girls who'd end up kissing random boys in the back of their cars"

"DAD!!!" I shouted, not wanting to hear anymore of my dad's imagination. I mean, seriously?!?! What the hell?!?!

"But your dad complimenting you, doesn't mean that you're not going to be punished Gabby" my mom added. Of course. "You're grounded for the rest of the night young lady. Go to your room" and with that, I simply nodded and hurriedly headed off to my room, Nick following behind me

"See? That wasn't so bad now, was it?" he asked. I rolled my eyes and punched him in the arm

"I got grounded for the rest of the night, which means I can't choose my own piece of chicken, you idiot" I said, punching Nick's arm, who was still laughing in between rubbing his arms

"Ow! MOOOMMM!!!" he said as he went down. I rolled my eyes as I continued to head off to my room. What a baby! I told myself.

I lied down in bed, not really in the mood to eat anything else, and stared up at the ceiling, wondering the amazing (please note the sarcasm) things that's bound to meet me tomorrow.

I walked through the hallway the next day with people staring at me and whispering. I just  sighed and rolled my eyes as I continued my way over to my locker. Great. This is what I get for defending myself.

As I stuffed my books inside, I noticed two of the cheerleaders-slash-school bimbos walk past me and give me glares. I shrugged them off as I picked out the books I need for my morning classes.

"Hey, isn't that the girl who gave Jace a black eye?" I heard someone say

"Yeah. Who does she think she is?" girl number 2 says. I sighed, not really bothering to look back to see who those two were. As I took my last book out, it suddenly slams close with a Jace Morgan standing in front of me.

Smirking, arms crossed over his chest, leaning on the lockers in front of me, and of course, sporting a black eye, courtesy of me.

"Anderson! Glad to see you have guts showing up in school" he said, not taking the smirk off his face

"Why wouldn't I? I'm not the one sporting the hideous purplish black eye a girl gave you... or are you trying to set a new trend?" I said as I smirked, and copied his pose: arms crossed, leaning on the lockers, smirking, without the black eye of course

"Oooh, fiesty. Too bad for you, I DON'T do fiesty" he retorted. I bit the inside of my lip before flashing him a grin

"Oh I know very well that you're too much of a wimp to handle me...I mean, you could already SEE the proof on your face" I answered. He gulped as his smirk faded and his jaw clenched.

"Whatever. You practically destroyed my relationship, Anderson" he said, making my eyebrow arch

"What are you talking about, Morgan?" I asked

"This" he said, pointing at his hideous black eye "had Stacy break up with me!" he groaned. I stared at him for half a second before I snorted and let out a laugh.

"Why WOULDN'T she break up with you?" I asked in between laughs. He just rolled his eyes

"Not my point, but this hideous thing you had up in my face, basically made her think she was too good for me because I'm a wimp and got punched by a girl!" he answered, making me laugh even more. "And you're gonna pay for this"

I suddenly stopped laughing as I looked up at him, a grin slowly creeping its way to his face

"As if" I exclaimed

"You heard me, pumpkin" he said, making my eyes grow wider and my mouth slightly fell open. He just smirked at my reaction

"Why would I do that? You deserve that black eye, Jace" I said. And before I knew it, he suddenly moves his face closer to mine, making me stop breathing for a sec, as I felt his breath on my nose.

"You are, Gabby. You are. And before you know it, you'll fall head over heels for me...like those other girls around" he said, still staring into my eyes. He smirked then moved his face away as he walked out on me, who was still frozen in my spot. What just happened??

"GABBY!!!!" Sarah said, shaking me by the shoulders and snapping me back to reality

"Huh? Wh-what?" I asked

"What was going on there? Were you and Jace just making out??" she asked, crossing her arms over her chest

"WHAT?! NO!" I said with a disgusted look across my face

"Oh? Then what was that?"

"Well, he came over to me, we started making comebacks like we usually do, then he started telling me it's my fault why he and Stacy broke up, then tells me I'm going to pay for the black eye, whether I like it or not, that before I know it, I'll be falling for him like everyone else, WHICH, FYI, I didn't really get.." I said as I slowly looked up at Sarah, who was smiling at me with twinkling eyes.

"What?" I asked. Sarah just shook her head, not taking the smile off her face. She just shook her head

"Nothing, come on. We gotta go before first bell rings" Sarah said, pulling me across the hallway over to our first class
