Lestat:

I write to you as if you know me, but you don't. If you really knew me, you would have long granted my desire to make me your next transformation—to send me to your world so that I, too, may see it as you do, that we might explore the night together, drink from the same cup, sit on balcony seats of the theater, satisfy our passion for beautiful things together. Oh, how I wish it so.

Tell me, my dark one, how is it that, for me, you are much more real than many of my own mortal kind? How you have inspired me through your vivid account of your world, how you absorbed life, its sights and sounds, its vibrancy. Though I am a product of an imperfect world, I've come to realize the beauty and profoundness of this universe, of earth and its cities...its people. I long for more, to explore the unknown, see the world through your eyes, live it from your vantage point, be held captive to the thirst.
