"hey, i'm jessie."
a smiling blonde woman said as you opened the door to the house that you had been put in. you had barely been in alexandria a day, you liked the house and the people you had met seemed fine but you weren't comfortable yet. you replied casually, wanting the conversation to end. you had been taking advantage of the general hygiene things that you hadn't had while travelling and you were in the middle of cutting your long hair so you had scissors in hand and one side was slightly shorter than the other. jessie noticed this quickly.
"you know, i used to be a stylist. and like twelve other things."
you didn't reply. you knew that she was trying to be helpful but you were very unsure of people nowadays.
"i could give you a cut, help you out."
you sent her one slow nod and stepped aside, allowing her into your house. you still were not one hundred percent sure of the woman but you decided that you would give her a chance and a warm reception because she seemed nice and something about her made your heart beat a little bit faster.
