Chapter 12 To Know Your Enemy

"These are the two locations of the Hypnobrai and Fangpyre tombs." She said as she approached the map. "Nice shots." I said. "Show off." Kai groaned. She tossed one more dart at the map.

"And this is Pythor's tomb. After many hours of ruminating about why the tombs were in these three precise locations, I discovered a pattern."

Nya shone a flashlight with a snake symbol on it, and sure enough, the three tombs were on the curves of the snakes form. "The tombs line up to form the Ninjago symbol for 'serpent'." Nya stated.

Jay then walked up to the map. "So the last two tombs must be here and here!" He pointed to two places on the map. "Ah, you are so smart." Jay said, getting closer to Nya.

Kai frowned, and I nudged him. "Was there ever any doubt?" Nya sighed.

"There's little time! Kai and Jay, you head to the Venomari tomb! Cole and Zane, you take the Constrictai tomb! And take this. You might need it if you run into Pythor." Sensei handed Cole a flute. "Good luck ninja."

We all nodded and got ready to go. "What am I gonna do?" Nya asked sadly. "Yeah, what are we gonna do?" Lloyd asked Wu.

"Nya, I need you here to make sure Lloyd doesn't get in any more trouble." Sensei gestured to Lloyd. "Yes, sensei." She sighed.

"Let's go boys! We've got some snakes to club!" Cole laughed. We all yelled, excited for a new challenge. "Wait, where do I go?" I asked.

"Just flip a coin." Kai told me as he got his sword. I ended up going with Kai and Jay. We flew, and Kai drove into the Toxic Bogs, searching for the tomb.

"Why are we looking for the graveyard of a bunch of evil snakes?" I asked. "Ewww." Jay wined as we looked into the murky green muck.

"It's not me, it's the Toxic Bogs. This stuff will eat through you worse than Cole's chili." Kai said carefully. "That's possible?!" I gasped.

Kai poked a stick into the goop. We heard a sizzling sound as the stick corroded. We swung through vines on our way to the tomb, until we made it to an old, rotten tree with a stony door covering an entrance.

Jay opened the door and green fumes floated out. "P-U!" He said, fanning in front of his nose. There was an echo that repeated a portion of what he said. He chuckled.

"Let's just make this quick before Pythor gets here." Kai walked towards the frothy water. I followed him, but Jay was checking the tomb.

"This place looks empty, we must have just missed him! Check this out." Jay turned towards the tomb as I watched. "They say you're the Green Ninja, but I say I am!" Jay shouted. "I am!" The tomb repeated. "I am!" Jay yelled. Once again, the echo copied Jay.

"You're a child, you know that?" I asked. I walked over to Kai as a purple mutated frog croaked at us. Kai pulled out his sword.

"You shouldn't sneak up on people like that. If I wasn't such a well trained nin-" Kai stopped. "What's that?" I asked, yanking out my Glaive.

A snake rose from the water and sprayed a green liquid into Kari's eyes! "Watch it you poison sucker!" I threw my Glaive at it, knocking him back into the green bogs. Kai spun around.

"Jay? Jay!" He cried. "No, I'm the real Jay!" He yelled into the tomb.

Constrictai snakes were popping out of the ground and more Venomari swimming towards us. "Jay, would you come here already I need your help!!!" I shouted while flailing my Glaive around.

Jay finally came to us as Kai plopped on the ground. "They're so many! Elves and Gingerbread people everywhere!" Kai screamed. "Okay, we're taking you to the ophthalmologist." I said.
