Chapter 4: Nico

---Chapter 4---

Nico's Pov
          Jasmine and I arrived at the arena. I watched as Jasmine took off a blue and green ring, which transformed into a sword. Jasmine swiftly swung the sword around, her dark brown hair getting in her eyes. Jasmine's hair flows so perfectly with her movements. And her eyes- I snapped out of my thoughts as Jasmine stared at me, noticing me watching her.
          "Well? Are we going to practice or not?" Jasmine said, a bit irritated.
          "Um, yeah. One sec,"I answered. I grabbed my sword from its sheath. "Ready. Now I'll go easy on you since-" I was cut off by Jasmine charging at me. I blocked her swings, but Jasmine managed to get a cut on my arm. I smirked. "Or, I won't go easy on you."
          "Go ahead. I bet I can take it," mocked Jasmine. I charged at her. Jasmine blocked my swing. Exactly as planned, I thought. I grabbed her arm and made Jasmine release her sword. With a swift move, I grabbed Jasmine's sword into my left hand.
          "If you think you can take it, get your sword back," I said. Jasmine glared at me, her eyes turning dark. Even Jasmine's hair seemed to get a bit darker. She charged at me again, trying to grab her sword back, but missed. Jasmine, instead, slipped behind me and grabbed the sword back.
          She swung her sword around before saying, "Got it." I smiled. This will be interesting, I thought. We swung our swords at each other, getting barely scratched. I tried grabbing Jasmine's sword again, but instead she got mine. "Come get it!" she mocked, smiling. 
          I smirked and lunged at her. Jasmine side-stepped, which I expected. I grabbed Jasmine's wrists and pinned her to the ground, both my sword and Jasmine's dropped from her grip. We were both breathing heavily.
          "Nice job," said Jasmine. "But..." She trailed off and with a swift move, Jasmine was on top of me, now pinning me to the ground. "I think two can play at that game," she finished, smirking.
          I smirked back. "Well played. I guess you don't need any help with swordplay," I said. 
          "Nope, but if I do, I know that I have the perfect teacher," replied Jasmine, smiling. "You."
          I smiled back at Jasmine. We stared into each other's eyes. Her eyes were now grass-green. Jasmine's eyes look so cute when they change color, I thought. "I like your eyes," I said aloud. Jasmine looked at me a little funny. Shoot! I can't believe that I just said that out loud! I wanted to smack myself. I'm such an idiot!!!  "I-I mean- w-when they change color, i-it's pretty cool," I stammered. Jasmine nodded and got up. Dang it! I liked where we were earlier, I thought while getting up. "So...." I started, trying to break the awkward silence. "Did your godly parent claim you yet?"
          "Um, no," she said, staring at the ground sadly.
          "Oh, sorry. I shouldn't have asked..." I trailed off.
          "No. No, it's fine. I just haven't seen her in a while," said Jasmine.
          "Well all godly parents are like that. When was the last time you saw her?"
          "When I was 10 years old, but we only met for a short time. Mama brought me to the park and we played tag. She held me in her arms before telling me, 'Be strong, my little Kristina. I'll have to leave once again, but only to win the battle ahead, for us.' The next thing I knew, I was asleep in my bed. When I woke up, Mama was gone," Jasmine explained, starting to tear up.
          "Um, I'm sorry. I-" was all I said before she cut me off.
          "It's ok. I guess I'll see you later. I'll be exploring," Jasmine said, smiling half-heartily. I nodded as she headed out of the arena. Jasmine only took a few steps before she started sprinting toward the North Woods.
          "Way-to-go, Nico. She'll probably hate you for life," I said sarcastically talking to myself. Everyone I meet, I frighten them the second they see me, I thought. I sighed and headed towards my cabin, hoping to relax.

Heyy! So there's chapter 4!! Sorry to have you guys wait so long.... School work :P Btw in the next chapter, Jasmine will mention who her godly parent is!!! Enjoy!!! P.S.
