Broken Hearted 3

"I'm sorry!" He sobs.
"Calm down." I tell him, calmly getting down off of Mamba, (or trying to). He grabs me once I'm halfway down.
"Hayes!" I yelp. He keeps me from falling though.
"Hayes, calm down!" I tell him.
"I can't!"
"Why?!"
"Because I hurt you and I shouldn't have and I'm so sorry!"
"Hayes, it's ok!"
"No it's not!"
We continue this back and forth fight, before I convince him to calm down.
"Let me get Mamba settled, and then we can talk."
"I'll help." He tells me. I lead Mamba to his stall. Hayes starts untacking him. He actually know how to do it. I look at him like 'how'?
"Skylynn is addicted to horses. I've taken her to almost all the lessons she's had."
"Oh."
"Where do you put your tack?"
"Here." I grab the bridle and saddle pad, before leading him to the tack room. We get everything put away, before I lead him up to the hayloft. After a long, heartfelt talk, he leans over to me.
"I'm so sorry baby girl." He gives me a kiss on the cheek.
"It's ok Hayes."
"From now on, you're protected by me and all my friends. Understood?"
I nod.
"Good. Now let's go."
We leave, and honestly I've never been happier.
I get a phone call from Hayes two days later.
"Hey?"
"Sarah? Meet me at the barn."
"Ok?"
"Thanks."
He hangs up. I drive out to the barn, to see him sitting in his truck.
"Hayes?" I walk up to the passenger side.
"Sarah?" He's sniffling, with tears in his eyes.
"Hayes! What's wrong?!"
"Will and Nash hate me..." he starts sobbing.
I can't get him to calm down. Finally, I say
"Let's go ride." I grab my brothers extra pair of boots out of the back of my truck.
"Here." He slips them on, and I lead him out to get a horse.
"What's his name?" He asks, when I lead Duke over to him.
"Duke."
"Like a Prince?"
"Yes."
"He's perfect!"
We go for a long, calming ride. We get back to see two guys waiting.
"Nash and Will." Hayes comments.
They make up, and now I am a little sister to them. They are super protective of me, just like Skylynn.
