Stefan's POV:
I walk into the house and take a seat on the couch.
Stefan: Nice house.
Katherine: Let's not do pleasantries. So what do you want to know Stefan?
Nadia: I'm going to leave.
Nadia blurs upstairs.
Stefan: Sigh, I just want to know them. What are their names?
Katherine: Alison, Vanessa, and Katja. So, what have you been up to the past 16 years? Isn't it Elena and Damon's and 18 year anniversary?
I really don't want to talk about Elena.
Stefan: It will be soon.
Katherine: Cute.
Stefan: My turn. How are you still so young?
Katherine hasn't aged a day since I last saw her. I see a smirk crawl on her face.
Katherine: I wondering when you'd notice. Didn't you know Stefan? I'm a Traveller. Instead of switching bodies, I found another way to live a while. After all, I don't want to 'look' like a mother to teenagers.
I give her a surprised look. She never really cared about her Traveller roots.
Stefan: Its good to know you haven't changed.
Katherine: I think we've been at this long enough. You should go.
Is she serious?
Stefan: No Katherine. I hardly know anything. I'm not leaving until you tell me more about them. Everything.
Katherine: You aren't going to leave are you?
Stefan: No.
Katherine: Sigh. Fine.
Stefan: Tell me about the girls. What are they like?
Katherine: Let's start with the oldest. Alison. She is just like me. But without the horrible personality. She's super competitive and a total flirt so you can not be here when they get home because I am not letting her flirt with you.
I smirk.
Stefan: Are you jealous Kitty Kat?
Katherine glares at me.
Katherine: No I just don't want my daughter flirting with her father.
Stefan: So what about the other two?
Katherine: Katja is quiet. She looks exactly Alison but is so polite and innocent that I'm not even sure she's ours.
I let out a small chuckle.
Katherine: And we finally have Vanessa. She is exactly like you. Blonde, green eyes, cute,
Stefan: A ripper?
I'm praying Katherine will correct me and tell me I'm wrong. She hesitates before answering.
Katherine: Yes. She is.
Stefan: How does she deal with, animal blood?
Katherine: She doesn't need it.
I look at her confused.
Katherine: Everyday I give her shots of human blood. She's as strong as her her sisters,
Stefan: Is she okay with them?
Katherine: She's used to it.
Stefan: So, she's like me?
Katherine: Yeah, she's just as smart too.
I'm glad she didn't just get cursed with the bad parts of myself.
Stefan: What about the third one?
Katherine: Katja. She is so nice. To everyone. She's also very polite. A few years ago I found her looking through some spell books and she grounded herself for a week.
Stefan: What was she looking for?
Katherine: The cure. She used to want it more than anything.
Stefan: Why?
Katherine: She doesn't want people to get hurt because of her. And vampires hurt people. When she was little she refused to use her vampire abilities.
Stefan: Does she still want the cure?
Katherine: No, she's accepted that there was only one cure. And she's learned to like her vampire abilities.
Stefan: So, how have you been?
Katherine: You don't have to do that Stefan?
Stefan: Do what?
Katherine: Pretend like you care about me.
Stefan: Come on Katherine.
She takes a moment and then gives in.
Katherine: I've been okay. What about you?
Stefan: Everything's been pretty good.
Katherine: Are you seeing anyone?
I smirk. I knew she'd ask me that.
Stefan: Not currently.
Katherine: Really? Not even Rebekah? After all she is the one who told you about the girls.
Stefan: Rebekah and I dated for a few years but we decided to end it.
Katherine: Aw, that's so sad.
Stefan: No need to mock Katherine.
Katherine: But why not? I'm so good at it.
Stefan: Are you seeing anyone?
Katherine looks at the ground for a moment before looking back at me.
Katherine: I've been too busy. 3 kids are a handful. Besides no guy wants to date a girl with four kids Stefan.
We sit in silence for a few minutes. I shouldn't have asked that question. Of course she's been busy.
Nadia blurs down the staircase.
Nadia: The girls are home.
Katherine: Already?
Nadia: It's been an hour.
I guess that was longer than just a few minutes of silence.
Katherine: Stefan you have to go.
What? Is she serious?
Stefan: No Katherine. I want to meet them.
Katherine: Please Stefan not yet I'm not ready. Please. I promise I'll call you soon.
I can hear the car doors lock.
Katherine: Stefan please.
Stefan: Fine, but I'm coming back.
The door handle turns and I blur out the back door.
