It's only 7 in the morning. 'Nothing's better that watching the lovely sunrise.' Well that's what you say of course, to convince your mum to take you to the park. You would like if you were on your own but it's unsafe for a child to be alone outside.

Although it was almost a decade ago, you still surprisingly remember the day like it was yesterday.

"Look mum! Look mum it's red, my favourite colour!"

Such an open mind you had, and still have. The imagery around you could take you into your deepest thoughts.

The yellow shining sun starts rising from the ground. It fills the sky with mighty colours of red and splashes the clouds with endless rays of pink. All the colours blend perfectly into each other. The sun's rays already warm up the air as you watch the mesmerising sight before you. You woke this early in the morning to watch the sunrise and don't regret it.

"Yes darling, now I'm going to sit on the bench. It's quite far but if I dose off, only wake me up in an emergency."

She points to a bench in the distance.

"Ok."

You don't really mind, as long as your here right now. You have a good feeling about being here.

Yes, you had a good feeling about sitting there in the park. The sky brings you happiness in the day and night. Whether it's gazing upon the sunrise or staring at the thousands of stars. 'The sky is limitless', you would remind yourself every time you were put down, as cheesy as it seems. That's not the only thing that brightened your day.

You run to the swings, almost tripping over. As you sit on the swing, you gently sway back and forth as you look around to see your surroundings. Your mum is most definitely sleeping but that's not what catches your eye. It's a boy coming out of his house, opposite the park.

By the looks of it, he's around 7, the same age as you. He approaches the park and his features become more visible. His eyes stand out the most. Bright blue eyes and brown hair.

His appearance seemed more attractive than his attitude and personality.

He proceeds towards you with a ball in his hand.

"Get off the swings." He says instantly and blandly.

"I still want to play on it. Why can't you go on the other one." You say to defend yourself.

"That swing is mine. I always come here at this time and I always go on that swing. If you don't get off it now you will certainly be playing with a black eye."

"You don't own this swing. It doesn't say your name on it does it?" You say confidently. It's not always that you stick up for yourself. Luckily your mum is asleep and too far to hear the argument.

"That's it you ugly poophead. Stop being stupid idiot before I punch you!"

"NO!" You aren't scared of him. He's just a small boy, he can't do anything.

That's what you thought.

Until he attempts to punch you, foolishly failing as he becomes startled by a young, unknown boy.

"Nash! What do you think your doing?! Stop annoying the girl." The unknown boy says.

"What are you talking about? She's the one annoying me!" This boy 'Nash' lies.

"Nash, I came here 5 minutes before you. I was wandering around the back of the park. Stop lying." The unknown boy says.

"Stop being so bossy, Shawn. I'll tell everyone at school. No one will like you anymore, you chicken nugget."

You're in the middle, awaiting for something exciting to happen and also thinking about the point of this argument.

"Oh come on. You know that no one's going to believe the boy that secretly picks his nose." Says the unknown boy, now known as Shawn.

"Shut up! I'm way more popular than you. Everyone likes you just because you have a phone and an iPad and a swimming pool in your garden!"

"People like me because I am nice. Unlike you who is know for your 'amazing sport skills' but obnoxious attitude." Shawn says clearly annoyed.

"I said shut up! I was trying to tell that donkey over there to get out of my swing before you came and started annoying me so can you stop."

"Don't call her a donkey! You don't know her!"

"You don't either! You know what! You're wasting my time. I'm leaving!" Nash says before storming off.

What a silly argument it was. Not for Shawn of course. It mattered to him very much.

"I'm sorry. Nash can be very rude sometimes. What's your name?" Shawn says.

"I'm y/n. What's your name?" You say, even though you already know the answer.

"I'm Shawn."

He sits on the swing next to you, admiring the sky...

And admiring you.

You slowly start to make conversation, learning about his likes and dislikes and becoming friends.

"Do you want me to push you?" Shawn asks rather nervously.

"Yes ple-" You're cut off by your mum calling you. You give Shawn an apologetic smile.

"Sorry Shawn. I have to go home." You sadly say.

"It's ok. I'm going to go home as well. You can come and play at my house anytime. We can go to the park and we can play on my Xbox and we can do other fun stuff. It's number 15 on that road." He says pointing towards a long road with big houses.

"Thank you, Shawn. I'll see you soon."

And you walk away.

And you also went to his house a few times, resulting to you becoming best friends with Shawn for over 10 years later.

"I remember that day like it was yesterday, Shawn. You and Nash were having some stupid argument."

"Ummm excuse me, if I didn't come to save you from a weak punch from Nash, you wouldn't have become my best friend. So don't call that argument stupid." And you both erupt in a fit of laughter.

"Oh Shawn, you've grown so much. You used to look like a chicken nugget. Now you're a... umm... A chick magnet."

"Chick magnet?"

"Sorry, couldn't think of anything else to say. It was either that or sex god." And once again you burst into a fit of laughter.

"Well you've grown with me, and still always so beautiful."

The friendship you have with Shawn is surreal. So close and so much trust.

"The old memories."

"And the new ones to make."

A/n - sorry if this was confusing.
