Every night, I search the depths of the Black Lake for shells. I collect them to make jewellery and trinkets for all the merpeople, but without them knowing, at midnight when I am out searching, I swim up to the surface and gaze up at a castle illuminated by the soft moonlight glow, and that castle is Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry.
Every night, I would look up to the moon and stars, and wish that one day, I would be able to live the life of a human even if it was just for a day, and explore the magical wonders of the wizarding world. After I made my wish, the stars shine brighter than every before, like they can hear me. Even if I am a mermaid, I loved my life.
Then one night, on my 14th birthday, everything changed...
