Chapter 3

My parents were dead. My brother was dead. I should be dead too... But they can't kill me.

I sat alone in the room Slenderman had given me. Even though I was in a house, full of inhabitants, I still felt more alone then I ever had in my whole life.

--------------------

BEN and I were running through the forest. I knew that the police would be looking for me, and I just wanted to hide from them, hide from everyone who knew me.

BEN stopped, and I fell down, my head spinning, my heart racing, and my breathing erratic. I felt sick, but I wouldn't allow myself to show weakness in front of this creature.

"She's here," BEN said, and I couldn't take it any more. I pushed myself up, and I gritted my teeth.

"Who's this one? Jared? Jared the psychopath?" I spat at BEN, who shrunk back. A gust of wind rattled through the forest, chilling me, but I didn't feel the cold.

"No, his name is Slenderman," a deep voice said, and I had the feeling that it echoes through the forest. I turned around and gulped. Slenderman was standing in between two trees, and he was magnificent.

He was around seven foot tall, and he had no face, and yet, he was still beautiful. He wore a tuxedo, and there were tentacles spread out all around him.

"Welcome to my woods, child," he said, and I shook my head.

"Why would I ever want to come to your woods?! Your all psychopaths!" I screamed at Slenderman, who merely turned around, and beckoned with his tentacles.

"Come on, Lucy. Let's get you to the mansion," BEN said, and suddenly, I felt numb. I no longer felt anger, I felt... Nothing.

BEN took my hand, and he led me through the forest, until we came to an old, broken down mansion. BEN took me inside, and I gasped. The inside was like a five-star hotel lobby, and I knew that BEN, Eyeless Jack, Masky, and Jeff couldn't have done this.

"You are right, Lucy. This was Trenderman."

I jumped at the sound of Slenderman's voice. BEN chuckled slightly, and I heard another laugh. Leaning on the door frame was Jeff.

"She's so cute, don't you agree?" he asked, and BEN glared at him. His hand tightened around mine, and I blushed slightly.

"Hey, Slender, can you show Lucy her room?" I heard a voice say, which I recognized as Jack's.

I suddenly felt something wrap around my waist, and I saw a tentacle slithering around my waist.

"Do not worry, child. We are going to your room," he said, and he carried me up three flights of stairs. We stopped at a white door. Slenderman opened it with another tentacle, and I felt my heart seize up. The room was identical to my room at home.

"Umm... Can I get another room?" I asked, and Slenderman signed.

"Yes, of course, child."

He carried me to another room, and opened that door.

"This is Trenderman's room, so try not to mess it up," the creature said, and I nodded. He placed me down, and I walked in. I locked the door, and slid down onto the floor.

------------------

A knock on the door startled me, and I lost my train of thought.

"Who is it?" I asked, and my question was answered with a bark.

"Its me, and Smile," BEN said, and I felt my heart speed up. I unlocked the door and slid away from it.

A husky jumped into the room. He jumped onto me and licked me. BEN walked in and sat on the bed. I pushed the dog off me, and I smiled slightly when I saw he had a humans smile.

"Smile says hi," BEN told me, and I looked up.

"What?"

"Everyone here can talk to Smile and Grinny. You can't cause you're not... Like us."

"Oh... Okay..." I replied, and BEN smiled at me. I felt my cheeks heat up, and I looked down quickly.

A thought pulsed through my head. Did I like... BEN?
