i. am. still. sobbing. it ended two hours ago.
fucking hell what the fuck is with the people that don't like it
(that's not saying you're not allowed to like it, these are my thoughts and ideas and if you don't like it that's okay)
but the things i've heard were:
1. it's corny.
damn right it's corny, it's a musical taken place in the present but in the form of a 50s movie, keeping the JAZZ elements from long ago, taking stuff from famous old hollywood movies like???? it's supposed to be like that??
2. "repeating city of stars doesn't make it a musical"
hahahahahaha bitch it's a musical it has more than just city of stars LIKE? okay city of stars was repeated once yet Mia and Sebastian's actual theme was going on almost all the time bECAUSE it's a musical and it's supposed to have repeated elements that show how important things are
3. the singing is bad.
it isn't bad, it's normal. they sound raw and like real people, not broadway actors.
4. it's sad
ITS LIFE! life doesn't always go in the path of love, and this demonstrates that. they go their own ways, which, interestingly enough, is NOT how regular old school hollywood movies go! this move made their own REALISTIC path.
i just love it so much and the characters are so strong and it affected me so much for some reason???
