Amy's POV
I was embarrassed. I was so ashamed. I didn't want to speak to my grandparents ever again, but they're family. I understands they think that they know what's best for me, but sometimes I wonder, are they right or wrong? I sighed as Anthony opened his apartment door.
"Are you sure that you're okay with us staying?" I whispered.
"Of course." Anthony smiled and gave me a kiss on the lips.
"Oooooo, Ramos. Get in there." Oak shouted.
"He already has." I winked to Oak and his jaw dropped. He was speechless. I don't think I saw him blink for a good couple of seconds. He was utterly shocked. I smiled at Anthony and he chuckled.
"That's my girl." He said and kissed my temple and took my hand and I dropped my bag at the edge of his bedroom door.
"We should probably tell Jasmine." Oh shit. "Oh, and I think your sister ran off to find Daveed." Anthony said and pointed to Daveed who looked like he was border line about to pass out on top of the coffee table. "I'll start cleaning up if you want." I told him.
"No no. You're my guest. When you're at Uni tomorrow, I'll clean." Anthony said and took me to his room.
"Hey. Quick question..." I muttered and sat on his bed.
"You know, I've come to learn that whenever you say Quick Question, we usually have a long and meaningfully chat."
"I-is that a bad thing?" I asked him as Anthony sat across from me. He shook his head.
"Not at all beautiful." He made me blush. "I-I was just wondering if you could tell me about why you and Jasmine broke up? I mean, if it's too personal, that's fine. It's just, because I'm here, I feel like there's an awkward tension between me and her and you and her." I didn't want to say anything about the conversation Jasmine and I had the other day. The music was still blasting and you could hear people singing that the top of their lungs. I'm pretty sure I heard Phillipa suggest karaoke. I noticed Anthony fix his hair. His hair was becoming loose. He shrugged.
"There's nothing awkward between Jas and I. Why? Do you feel awkward when she's around?" He asked me and fix my hair behind my ear.
"I just think it's the whole girlfriend to ex girlfriend thing." I said and smiled. "I've never referred to myself as that. That's weird." I giggled.
"You have nothing to worry about. Jasmine just likes to be a touchy feeling person. If something's wrong, she'll tell you." Anthony said and I nodded. "She didn't say anything to you? Did she?" Anthony questioned.
"Sh-she told me that your mother might not accept me, because of who I am, and my background and skin colour." I shrugged. "It's nothing I haven't heard before."
"She said that?" Anthony said shocked. "My mother isn't like that at all. She asked about you when you left the hospital. She made extra food for you because she knew that you were looking after me. She cares about you. I told her the other day that you're my girlfriend, and she couldn't have been any more happier for me and for you. If you want, we can visit her one day this week. I promise you, she's going to love you." Anthony smiled and kissed my head.
"How do you always know what to say?" I smiled.
"And if Jasmine ever annoys you, or says something that may offend you. Just tell me. She's getting on my nerves as well." Anthony told me and I looked at him straight in the eyes.
"How are you so perfect?" I smiled.
"I just am." He said cockily. "But seriously, you're amazing and thank you again for looking after me whilst I was in hospital."
"It was my absolute pleasure." I smiled, proudly of myself. I leaned in to kiss him, when Oak came into the room.
"Ramos! There you are. We're going to play Kings Cup. Wanna play?" Anthony shook his head.
"Not tonight. Sorry Oak. Maybe next time." Anthony said and Oak slammed the door shut. He was so drunk. I couldn't help but smile and Oak as he left. He had no idea why he was acting that way. Anthony and I were silent.
"I-I couldn't help but notice your knuckles at dinner. What happened?"
"Oh. I was punching a boxing bag, to release my anger."
"Stress baking and boxing? That's hot."
"Geez. Anything turns you on. I swear, you could flirt with a pot plant and feel so turned on." I playfully rolled my eyes.
"It's true. I'm a hopeless romantic." Anthony smiled and I laughed.
"Well, that's true."

~*~

I woke up the next morning to Anthony cleaning his apartment. He seemed a little upset. Maybe because of the mess people had left behind. I picked up some empty red cups and gave them to Anthony.
"Oh I didn't realise you were up." He muttered.
"You okay?" I sheepish asked.
"Yeah. Fine." He said kissed my cheek.
"You're not fine. Is it the mess? I can help with that." I said picking up some more cups. Charlie was sitting watching TV quietly. "I'll ask her. She'll know." I said pointing to my sister and Anthony looked at me.
"Jas and I had an argument. I just don't want her to keep getting in other people's business. First us, and now Daveed and Jalene are having arguments and even Lin and Vanessa." I let out a gasp. That can't be true. I actually haven't spoken to Lin
"Babe. You don't need to be worried about that." I smiled and kissed his cheek. I looked at him. "Go get some more rest. You've got a show tonight. I don't want you to perform when you're upset." I said and took his hand and lead him back to the bed.
"Amy." He groaned.
"Anthony. I'm not going to deal with your shit right now." I said and kissed his forehead as he lay down.
"Can you stay with me?" He asked and I sat next on the bed.
"I'll keep cleaning."
"Amy. Please." I looked at him straight in his eyes. I softened my smile. "Moms coming over for lunch." I froze. I blinked a couple of times.
"Y-your mom?" And he nodded. "A-are you sure?" I suddenly felt sick. I couldn't bare but hear Jasmines words in my head, although Anthony tried to reassure me, I couldn't help it.
"D-do you mind cooking, please?" He dragged the 'ea' in please. I stuttered.
"A-are you sure? I don't know. I mean-"
"Amy. Whatever Jasmine said to you, just forget it. My mother loves everyone." He said and took my hand and kissed it. He smiled. It's the drugs from his surgery which are playing up. I kissed his head and moved away from him.
"I'll wake you up when you moms comes over." I whispered and left the room. Charlie walked over.
"I think Anthony is mad because I woke him up this morning." She cried.
"Oh honey. His not mad at you." I picked her up.
"What makes you say that?" I whispered and smiled at her.
"I-I was having bad dreams about Grandmother yelling at me, so I wanted to turn the TV on, so I could forget what was happening." Charlie cried and I kissed her temple.
"Honey. Whatever happens between Mootua and me, doesn't concern you. You know I'm not going to leave you here with Dad. He is too busy at work." I sighed and placed her on the ground again. Sesame Street was playing.

Anthony's POV
I felt so bad leaving Amy alone to cook dinner for my mom. To be honest with you. I can't cook very well. My mom hates my cooking. I looked at the time and noticed it was 12:20pm. Amy didn't wake me up.
"And then, I was speaking to Steph about it..." I heard my mother trail off. "And I just couldn't believe it." What is she talking about.
"I heard otherwise." I heard Amy's distinctive voice.
"No!" My mother gasped. They were probably gossiping about something. I sighed. They're getting along. That's amazing. No, that's awesome. No that's actually so good. I got out of bed, spray from deodorant and after shave on and walked out.
"About time you got up son." Mom laughed and hugged me as I walked over.
"Sorry." I gulped and hugged her back. I haven't seen her since the opening night of Hamilton. "Someone told me that they would wake me up when lunch was being served." I said and looked at Amy. She couldn't help but blush.
"Ohmygod would you two just kiss already." My mother squealed. "I knew when I met you Amy dear, I knew there was something about you. I don't know if it was your charm or your cooking skills, but Anthony. I think you've found a keeper." My mother gleamed. I smiled and kissed Amy on the temple and whispered in her ear.
"Yeah, I think I have too." I smiled and she giggled. I smiled. This is the perfect moment to tell her how I feel. I want to drop the 'L' bomb but it's to early in our relationship. I'll know when the time is right. I've just got to believe in myself.
"Whatcha cooking?" I said smelling the aromas.
"Salmon and asian greens. Something simple." Amy said and began to chop up the broccoli.
"Anthony! You're up!" Charlie squealed and ran into my arms.
"I sure am buttercup." I laughed and picked her up. "Guess what, when you were sleeping I saw our neighbour Lin on Sesame Street. Isn't that funny?" She laughed and I nodded.
"I think that's enough blackberry lemonade for you today honey." Amy smiled at her sister.
"Aren't you a cutie?" Mom smiled and pinched Charlie's cheek. "How old were you when you had Charlie?" Mom asked and Amy smiled.
"Oh she's my sister." My moms face went bright red. "It's alright, I get asked that all the time. I don't know if I should take offence to it or not." Amy said placing the salmon on the pan.
"Oh god no. You have such young skin." The second she said skin I noticed Amy tense up. Clearly she doesn't like talking about her skin.
"Mom, do you mind setting up the table?" I asked her.
"Oh not at all Ant." She said and grabbed some place mats. Charlie went to get the knives and forks.
"So far so good, huh?" I said to Amy as I stood my her side and watched her cook. I watched her face light up.
"Yeah. So far so good."
