My body was sore, and ached. The fresh cuts began swelling shut, laced with nothing but purple bruises. I moved about awkwardly throughout the day, sweatpants, and a long sleeve shirt hiding my misdeeds. I don't see the point in hiding what I have done, they wouldn't care.
My mother spared me a glance this morning, and she actually smiled at me...like she used too. I so badly wanted to believe everything was okay, and that it was all okay. But the sore lacerations brought me to the painful reality. My mother moved closer to me, and hugged me gently. I stood there startled by this suddenly strange woman, disguised as my mother.
I found myself sitting across from her as she explained what was going on. After she found out about the baby, she demanded Richard to tell her what was going on, and when he did, she threw him out. That's right, my mother threw him out.
I should have been so proud of her, I really should have. But the question, how long is it gonna take before she snaps?
