chapter 10

Normani pov

i woke up in Dinah's arms and i smiled. i actually have her back. i leaned up and kissed her lips to which she reciprocated, gently biting my lip before i broke the kiss.

"Dinah, you have to get up. Tori's waiting for you."

"shit, what time is it?"

"4:30 in the morning." i said, laughing as she rushed to put clothes on.

"why would you be awake right now?"

"i honestly have no idea but i heard Tori enter a few minutes ago."

"great, but i love you a lot and i'll see you later." she told me, kissing my lips and leaving.

i heard them talk for a little bit before hearing the door open and close. i leaned back on the bed and just smiled. it felt really good to have her back. i closed my eyes and went to sleep again before having to wake up for work.

"sooo? what happened?" Camila asked, as soon as i walked in.

"i got her back." i said, as we both jumped in joy.

i heard the door opened and looked to see Zendaya and Ally there. they were confused as to why we were so happy.

"what's going on here?" Ally said, raising an eyebrow.

"well i have Dinah back!"

"oh my god, i'm so happy for you!" Zendaya said, as they gave me a group hug.

"the day you called me confused the hell out of me but i was happy because you finally admitted that you liked her. i knew you would freak out but i helped you through it."

"i'm thankful for you Ally. if you never told me what to do, i wouldn't have her back. i just hope that we could have a real wedding."

"you definitely will. you can count on that."

i watched as they left and customers began to pile in. today's a good day and it will stay like that. nothing can ruin my mood.

"Mani, come out here." Camila screamed, as i stopped what i was doing.

"what?" i asked, coming out from the back.

when i turned to look what she was staring at, my jaw dropped. what was she doing here?

"i just wanted to come by to surprise you." she chuckled, nervously.

"Dinah.." i said, taking a gulp. "shouldn't you be at work?"

"Tori said we had an hour break so i wanted to bring you some flowers just like you did the day we had our first kiss."

"that's so sweet, thank you." i said, embracing her in a hug.

"i don't think i'll be able to see you tonight though. i'll send flowers and cards for you."

"is that why you came by?" i asked, dejectedly.

"Mani, i'm coming back to you okay? i'll make sure of it."

"okay." was all i said, as i turned away.

she grabbed my wrist and pulled me back. her left hand on my cheek as she looked into my eyes.

"can i have a kiss?"

i nodded as she gave me a soft kiss. when i felt her pull away, i pulled her back in because i didn't want the moment to end. i was scared that she might not come back.

"i'm coming back okay? i know you're worried but you're the reason that will make me want to come back."

"please be careful."

"anything for you." she said, giving me one last kiss.

she gave me the flowers and kissed my head before running out of the store. my hands fall to my side, clutching the flowers, while my head hung low. tears were streaming down my face.

"Mani, she'll be okay. it's Dinah, she wouldn't give up without a fight."

"i hope so." i said, hugging Camila.

i got home and i sighed, entering the house. i saw rose petals on the floor and got confused. i followed it up and went inside our room where i found Dinah standing with her hands behind her back.

"i thought you weren't going to be home?"

"i needed time for this so i lied."

"what exactly is this?"

"come close and close your eyes when i grab your hands."

"okay." i breathed, walking towards Dinah.

i closed my eyes and felt her grab my hands. my hands went down a little bit, confusing me. she let go of my hands, confusing me even more.

"open your eyes." she said, as i opened my eyes.

my hands quickly covered my mouth at the sight. Dinah was on her knee with a ring.

"Dinah.."

"Normani, i lied to you today so i could do this. i was supposed to be working with Tori but she said that it wasn't until tomorrow when i actually start. i'm so nervous doing this because having the thought that it might come true makes me incredibly happy."

"i can't believe you did this within a day."

"i had help from the girls, including Kehlani."

the girls walked in and they were smiling. tears were falling from my eyes.

"how did you afford the ring?"

"that's a secret for now but i have a question."

"go for it."

"Normani Kordei Hamilton, will you do me the honor of becoming my real wife?"

"yes." i said, as she picked me up.

her lips touched mine and i smiled against the kiss. my legs wrapped around her waist as i pulled apart from the kiss. i leaned down into her shoulder and began to cry. this was honestly the best day ever and the fact that i'm actually going to marry her is amazing.

"don't cry anymore. now that you're with me, i don't want you to cry. i can't stand having you cry."

"i've made you cry countless of times."

"you thought i was the one to hurt you and it's okay. we're okay now."

she kissed my forehead and put me down. i never wanted to let go of her.

"this is for real right? no games?" i hesitantly asked.

"this is for real. i told your dad about this and he's already getting the decorations done. he and my dad were the ones that helped me pick out this ring and buy it."

"i would've been okay with a smaller diamond."

Dinah shook her head, as i raised an eyebrow.

"you deserve the best and nothing but the best."

"you're such a loser." i said, rolling my eyes.

"i'm your loser though."

"that you are."

i gave her one last kiss before hugging Camila and the girls. they congratulated me and i just smiled, looking at Dinah with her sisters and tori. if i never fell for Dinah, where would i be?
