"But...?" The brunette asked.

I observed the so perfect design, feeling those butterflies in my stomach. I closed my eyes for brief seconds, swallowing hard.

"But..." I took a deep breath. "I didn't think it would be like this."

She put on the little black satin babydoll, and only then turned her body to me. Her brown eyes had an intense and teasing glow. Karla now possessed an extreme power of seduction, she didn't even have to make an effort for it. I took a step back, feeling my heart race.

"I didn't think so either." She walked towards me. "Actually, I didn't even think that I'd see you again."

"Hard not to see you around."

Karla flashed a lazy and at the same time provocative smile, now standing in front of me.

"I imagine. But I believe that in person it's very different, don't you agree?"

"Totally."

The brunette walked to the other side of the room, stopping next to a granite counter, where she crouched and opened the door of a compact, air-conditioned cellar. That was an area reserved for the guests of the hotel who preferred to eat in the room.

"Do you like wine, Lauren?" She asked as she examined the bottles inside the cellar.

"I do, but I'm already leaving..."

Camila stood quickly with one of the bottles in her hand, and with the other hand she grabbed two thin crystal glasses from the counter.

"Oh, come on..." She said as she approached. "You can't do me this slight after so many years."

"I just think that it's pretty late, and we've had too much to drink already."

It was obvious that I was referring only to her. I drank, but it didn't even come close to the amount of alcohol ingested by the model that night. It surprised me how she acted so naturally, even knowing that she was drunk.

"Open it for me?" She said as she handed me the bottle of red wine. "Let's just drink a little while we talk. I'm not sleepy now, and I didn't want to be alone, please."

I hesitated for a few seconds, but she stared at me with such an intense gaze that broke all and any possibility of me denying her request. I put the bottle of wine on the table and she handed me the corkscrew; skillfully, I opened the bottle, smelling the sweet aroma as I poured the dark colored liquid inside the crystal goblets.

"Perfect."

Camila carried her crystal goblet with one of her hands, and with the other she grabbed the bottle, heading towards the hotel balcony. I removed my high heels, in an attempt to get a little more comfortable, and went after her. The Latina was now sitting on the ground, leaning against the wall, just enjoying the light breeze of the night.

"Sit here." The woman said as she pointed to the space beside her.

I still felt so insecure to be in Camila's presence again. The subtle way how she was dealing with my presence was at least surprising. I always imagined that our reencounter would be a new version of a world war. But had the times of peace already arrived?

"Alright."

I sat down next to the brunette, leaning my back against the wall. I let my legs lie flat on the cold ground of that place. I remained quiet, staring at the empty street ahead of us. Camila brought her crystal goblet to her lips, taking a big sip.

"I never imagined that you'd be involved with the fashion world. I thought you hated all this."

"I thought so too, but I saw a great opportunity for my business career."
