Dad Talks and Reconnecting

I went into my Dad's truck and grimaced at his broken nose that was wrapped up in white but blood was seeping through the bandages. "Hey Dad." I said while kissing his cheek and avoiding his nose. "Mija." He replied.

I looked back at Y/n and gave her a wave. She slowly waved back but she looked paler than usual. None the less the small action she did made me blush madly. Oh gosh, why is this happening?

Before I could think more about it, I was brought out my thoughts when my Dad said, "Who was that girl you were hugging mija?" Ah you know, the girl that I think I'm slightly crushing on. "A classmate."

"Oh, well is she coming to the barbeque? I already know Normani, Ally, Dinah, and Lauren are coming like usual." He said with a slight annoyance when it came to saying Dinah's name. I think he's still not over the prank she pulled on him.

"Yeah, she's coming to the barbeque." I still can't get over the fact that she actually agreed to coming over. I can finally and properly apologize to her for what I said to her.

"What's her name mija and what class do you have with her?" Jeez, he needs to chill with the questions. He's been acting weirdly ever since he broke his nose at work. "Her names Y/n and I have Spanish and computer class with her."

He seemed to be deep in thought once I said her name. "What's her last name?" He said after a couple minutes of awkward silence. Before I could answer that, we had already arrived home and I just quickly got out the car. "That was weird." I thought to myself. I hurriedly went to my room and started to study more computer shit. Maybe it might even impress Y/n.

I slowly waved back to Camila and saw her drive away from my sight. Oh fuck. I ran to my car and drove like a maniac to home base. This is not good, not good at all. Who would've thought that my arch nemesis is the father of the girl I've been having a crush on since forever. Why does my life suck so much? God are you even up there.

Once I arrived to home base, I ran inside and saw my squad, Max, Lily, and my Dad at the living room watching. Max and Lily were the first ones to see me. They got up from the couch and ran towards me. "Y/n!" They said together.

I got on to my knees and opened my arms towards them. I engulfed them into a major hug and held on to them tight. "Hey Buddy. Hey Lily." I don't know why but I've managed to grow close to these kids in just a matter of hours. The two of them had such a strong grip on me this morning. They didn't want me to go to school at all. It broke my heart when Max confessed to me that he's still somewhat scared of my squad. Maybe it's because they look intimidating but Max did trust Puppy and Lily did trust Wolf so that was a good thing. Otherwise my perfect attendance would've been ruined.

"How are you guys?" I said after I backed away from the hug to look at them. "We're good, I just missed you a lot Buds." Max said. He had created the nickname for me on the way back to home base last night. "I missed you too Siege."

"Aw I missed you too Buddy and Lily. Did you guys behave while I was gone?" I said jokingly but they nodded really fast as if they were scared. Those guys probably had said the same thing and had probably hurt them while they were at it. "Guys, I'm just kidding." I said while hugging them again to try and calm down their nerves.

"But I'm going to have a meeting with them, so could you guys do me a favor and wait in my room. I promise that once I'm done with the meeting, we'll have quality time together. I'll even get you guys ice cream." They smiled happily and both gave me a kiss on the cheek before running away to my room.

I walked to the living room and grabbed the remote. I turned off the tv and activated security phase 1 which caused the windows to blacken and all the doors to lock. "I don't know how to say it but Camila's Dad is Cuban Smoker's leader."

At the mention of Cuban Smoker's my Dad flinched and I sent him small sorry. "Wait, Camila. As in the girl that you've been crushing since forever?"

"Yeah, that's the girl." I said nervously. My Dad just smirked when he heard crush. "How do you know?" Blue said seriously.

"Well when I was fighting him, I managed to see his face and had broken his nose. So when Camila had invited me to go over to her house for a barbeque, I had said yes. She went into a car and I saw the person driving it. It was her Dad and he had bandages all over his nose."

"Wait a minute, the girl of your dreams invited you to her house, get it Y/n." Romeo said making me blush madly. "But on a serious note, you're kind of fucked."

"Oh don't remind me." I said falling dramatically on to the couch. "Okay I know Y/n and she probably said yes to going to Camila's barbeque so we can't cancel that and this is Y/n's crush we're talking about. She barely got to talk to Camila until this year."

I glared at Ghost but he was right. I barely talked to Camila, until this year had worked me a miracle and managed to let me befriend Camila somehow.

"Look we can talk about this later Y/n. So far you're nothing but Camila's friend, hopefully soon to be girlfriend, to him so he doesn't know yet." Hitman said dismissing the meeting and turning off security phase 1.

They all left but I could tell my Dad had stayed. There was comfortable silence between us but I could tell he had wanted to say something.

"Mom's okay you know. She still misses you but she's getting better. I missed you too Dad. I-I thought I l-lost you." I said choking up in my tears. He hugged me tightly and I grabbed on to his shirt, fearing that he might not actually be here. He started to whisper soothing words into my ear while rubbing my back

"I'm sorry you had to grow up without me Y/n and I'm so so sorry for not being there for you but I'm here now. I don't plan on leaving anytime soon. You're stuck with me Y/n for a long time." I cried even more. I didn't know that I had this much tears inside of me but I did.

"Now, no more crying. You know how much I hate when people cry." I chuckled at his words and he helped wipe off the tears on my cheeks. "But I gotta say, I'm proud of the woman you've grown up to be. And I'm insanely proud of your computer hacking skills."

Just hearing how proud he is of me just makes me want to cry even more. All I ever wanted is for him to be proud of me. "Thanks Dad but I still got more to learn. Do you think you'd be willing to teach me again?"

He smiled and said, "You didn't even have to ask." I hugged him again and savored the feeling of being whole again.

"But that Camila girl...."
