"So what do I do?" I asked him as I heard the bedroom door open behind me.
"Hi!" My mom walked in the room closing the room behind her, which I was grateful for. "What's going on?" She asked.
"Come sit down." My dad said, tapping the space on the bed next to him.
My mom walked around the bed and sat down next to my dad.
"You intrigued me on the phone." She said smiling at me.
"I wanted to ask you and dad a question. I want to tell Blake about what happened when I was little, but also if or how do I tell him about killing Jesse." I said to them.
"Oh." Was the sound that came out of my mother's mouth.
My dad put his hand over hers. "I think she should. Love can be a pretty powerful thing." My dad told her.
My mom's eyes got bigger while looking at him then looked at me.
"You love him?" She asked with a big smile on her face, like she was proud of me.
"I think so." I replied, now feeling awkward. I had never in my life been so straightforward with them, I had always keep everything to myself and pushed everyone back, even my parents and my brothers but with everything we had been through this year, my view on life had changed.
"Did you tell him? Did he say it to you?" She asked me, more curious than ever.
"No..."
She took a deep breath then said, "Well, if you trust him enough with your heart, then I think yes of course you can tell him. If I were you, I'd tell him everything except the last part about Jesse. If his reaction is reassuring to you, then tell him the rest." She said.
"Really?" I asked a bit surprised looking at both of them.
"I think that would be a good plan." My dad said and my mom nodded her head.
I felt like the pressure on my shoulders had been lifted. The stress had minimized knowing I had my parents’ approval. Now I just needed to find the right time to talk to Blake. My dad was right, I was little and didn't know what I was doing. I just hoped Blake saw it the same way.
We left their bedroom and I heard my grandmother ask if everything was okay as the three of us walked in the kitchen.
"Yes, everything is fine thank you." My mom answered.
I know my grandmother was just trying to be nice but she had way of getting under my skin which was really irritating.
"Derrick, are you hungry?" My mom asked him.
"No, I'm good. Did you want to stay for dinner?" My dad asked me.
"Um...I don't know." I said. Dinner was still couple hours away and I wanted to talk to Blake and get that conversation over and done with.
"Okay." He said with a warm smile. He left the kitchen and walked back to the living room as my grandmother was walking my way.
"Amanda, may I have a word with you?" She asked.
Great, what the hell did I do wrong this time?
