Chapter 25 - Part 1

Start from the beginning

"No, I had an appointment.  I wanted to talk to you about something." I said looking at my dad.

"Is everything okay?" He asked.

"Yeah, it's just...I need to ask you something and I need your advise." I told him.

He gave me this confused look but nodded his head.

"Do you think we could go in your bedroom?" I asked.  I knew he was still having some problems, I felt bad just asking.  "...or we could stay here if you want." I added.

"Bedroom is fine." He said.

Slowly he got up and I went to his side to help him but he put his hand up, silently telling me to stop, so I did.

When he was standing straight and slowly started to walk, he looked at me, "I need to do this alone. If I don't..." He said but didn't finish his sentence.

"Okay." I said and nodded my head.

We walked to his bedroom and I closed the door.  We both sat on his bed and my heart rate was out of control.

"What's going on?" My dad asked.

I looked at him and I wanted to cry.

"I think...I think I'm in love." I said out loud, looking in his hazel eyes.

He smiled the biggest smile that I hadn't seen in a very long time.

"That's wonderful Amanda." He said.

I shook my head in disagreement while bringing my head down.

"Why isn't that a good thing?" He asked.

"Because he doesn't know... he doesn't know what happened, he doesn't know what I did, he doesn't know..."

"Amanda, you can still be in love and not know every single detail about the person you love.  Look at your mom and me, we don't know everything about each other, even after all this time, it would be impossible if we did.  Communication is the key.  If you don't have that, you won't go forward or continue in the relationship." He said.

"I want to tell him about what happened when I was little.  What I want to know is, should I and how do I tell him I killed someone?  You've known him longer than I have, I just...don't know." I said, asking for his advice.

He nodded his head like he finally understood why we were in his bedroom with the door closed.  The reason I wanted this conversation to be completely private even though my grandparents knew the truth.

"You were so little Amanda.  You saved your life and the life of your mother.  Don't put yourself down for protecting yourself, beside you were so little you didn't do it on purpose.  As for Blake... honey we just work together, you know him a million times better than me." He said.
