Have you visited the northwest suburbs of Chicago? It is certainly a change of pace from Chicago. Horses graze in Arlington Park. Ducks move slowly along little ponds around apartment complexes. They stop occasionally to drink some water and then continue their walk. People, including police, walk the small malls and are super friendly.

This serene environment was the childhood scene of presidential candidate, Hilary Clinton. Hilary traded these peaceful suburbia times for a time in politics in New York and Washington D.C.. Could this be Bill's influence?

Lucinda came here to see her brother when she got deported. The pool is closed at the motel where Lucinda stays. She visits again to create some closure to what happened then. It is rainy.
It is really green and quiet. An occasional leaf has changed color to red and yellow on the lash grass. She remembers the restaurants he took her to. The patio filled with light on a short trip to Phoenix.

She always wanted to visit him and continue her studies. This motel room opening into the pool reminds Lucy times spent with lovers in Mallorca, Spain and in Athens, Greece. Water and swimming make Lucinda happy.

Charmaine used to hold Stan in the water in the pool like a baby. She shampooed Stan's hair in the shower, telling Stan that he somehow lacked this experience in his childhood. Floating on his lover's arms created a happy experience for Stan. He remembered how he bonded with Charmaine that day on the beach and trusted her.

Lucinda also has reminiscences of one of her lovers when they were hotel hopping. He was saying how one can do laundry in these places...

Why do these relationships end up so bad? Lucinda watches a travel documentary about Iran. Why couldn't they visit Tehran together with Reza, this so hip place of friendly Iranians?

These relationships are situations she runs from, because of this endless fighting about this and that and money. Isn't this a scene replayed from childhood where dad was asking mom for more money as part of her dowry?
