~~Gabriella's POV~~
"Brother why must you always stare at Katherine?" I ask confused because every time he sees her he mostly stares at her. "Don't worry little Gabriella, your too young to understand why" my annoying big brother says, "I'm 14 and the only lady in the house I think I'm old enough Damon to understand what love is" I state
"Woah there little sis those are some strong words," Damon says and ruffles my hair. "Damon stop teasing our sister" Stefan says from behind us, "Stefan" I say smiling and go to hug him, he hugs me back but tighter. "Can't breathe" I say laughing, "oh dearest Stefan stop suffocating our sister" Damon mocks, "shut it will you" I say smiling at Damon,
"What would you like to know about love Gabriella?" Stefan asks me raising his eyebrows,
"Everything about it" I say excitedly, "I don't think your ready to experience love little Gabriella" Damon says laughing a little, "jerk" I say and kick him in the knee, I walk away well more like run away into the woods "Gabriella" I hear Stefan and Damon yelling my name,
I feel the tears run down my cheeks I stop running, and sit near an old tree. "Why must I always be treated like a child" I say while looking up at the sky, "why must I always be referred to the little sister" I say still looking up at the sky, "Gabriella" I hear someone say from behind me, I turn around and see my friend Amara. "Why are you crying Gabriella" Amara says and takes a seat next to me, "because Stefan and Damon always make fun of me because I don't know the meaning of love" I say and lean my head on her shoulder,
"Gabriella. Your brothers are just being jerks, they probably don't even know the meaning of love ether" Amara says while rubbing my back in comfort, "I can tell you the meaning of love" Amara adds, "really?" I ask excitedly, "really" she says smiling,
"Ok. So you want to know the meaning of love, love is one of the best feelings in the world just to be loved is enough. Some people think love is just talking kind, warm and cute words to each other, love is just telling. I love you, to the one person you feel most comfortable with is the person you love, love is passion, affection, attraction, desire, perfection, happiness, compassion, attachment" Amara pauses and hugs my sides "love is magic real magic, love is the most beautiful thing in the whole wide world." Amara says while putting her head on top of mine,
"Let me tell you a story that my mother once told me long ago" Amara says grabbing my hand in hers,
"Once upon a time, there was a man named Joseph Finn Odair, he was in love with the kingdoms most beautiful lady. Her name was Evelyn Gracie Evermore, and she was the most beautiful lady in the small kingdom of Dante, just listening to her voice made you fall in love with her. Joseph did everything to get her to notice him but she just didn't really care for his beautiful Sea green eyes that sparkled or his beautifully styled bronze colored hair or even the fact that he was six-foot two, none of those things mattered to her because Joseph had to win her heart, and he did by doing one act of kindness" Amara pauses and looks down at me,
"What did he do?" I ask after a good long minute, Amara smiles
"He helped her find herself, Evelyn also had two sisters Margaret and Florence but they really didn't care to help there sister out when she needed it, and they where also jealous of Evelyn because everywhere she went heads turned her way, not only was Evelyn beautiful but she was kind and always wore a smile she never showed weakness, and that was one thing her sisters also hated because she was brave as well fearless she would put her mind to anything. Joseph had a sister and a brother Naomi and Richard, they where not like the Evermore sisters they loved and helped there brother through everything they actually cared about what happened to him unlike the Evermore sisters. Should I continue?" Amara says pausing again,
"Yea continue I want to know how Joseph stole Evelyn heart" I say groaning, Amara laughs
"Joseph Finn Odair, was considered the luckiest man alive when he won the heart of the beautiful Evelyn, they where madly in love but one day there was this king a supposedly good friend of Joseph's that was jealous of Joseph he tried to kill, him many, many times, without him even realizing it was him, after a year of Joseph and Evelyn being together, Joseph finally asked Evelyn to marry him, and it was the day of the wedding when Joseph's supposedly friend attempted to kill Evelyn instead of Joseph he said that if he couldn't have her then nobody could, but instead of Evelyn being the one that got stabbed it was Joseph he sacrificed himself for her, his last words were that he loved her" Amara says ending the story, wiping under her eyes.
"What was Joseph's friends name?" I ask wiping my eyes as well,
"His name was Alastair" Amara says running her hands through my hair. "Why did Alastair want to kill his friend?" I ask letting the curiosity take over me,
"Because Gabriella people are selfish"
"What happened to Evelyn?"
"Evelyn lived a long sad life, after Joseph died she didn't eat for mouths but she managed to survive, the saddest thing was that she never loved anyone again" Amara says looking at me,
"C'mon Gabriella we better get going" Amara says standing up and wiping the leaves off her dress. That had fallen
"But I don't want to go back" I say while wiping under my eyes, "oh sweet Gabriella" Amara says while pinching my cheeks, "hey stop" I say smacking her hands away lightly, "fine but if you promise to come with me" Amara says crossing her arms, "ok" I say and start walking with her, we walk and walk past so many trees,
"So tell me Gabriella why do you want to know so much about love?" Amara asks all of a sudden. "Because I want to fall in love with the one but I wanted to know the meaning of love first" I say while walking,
"Got your eyes on someone?" Amara says laughing, "no" I say blushing, "are those people you talked about in the story real?" I ask curious, "yes it was a true story, Evelyn almost looked like you" Amara says and ruffles my hair again, "did she ever see Alastair again?" I ask the curiosity taking over, "I don't think so" Amara says while looking up to the sky, "I hope he got what he deserved" I say while crossing my arms, "I bet he did don't worry Gabriella" Amara says and pats my head, "can I ask you something?" I ask "shoot" Amara says laughing, "why are my brothers in love with Katherine? I mean what do they see in her? She's ugly." I state bluntly,
"Oh Gabriella" Amara says and bursts out in laughter, "what's so funny?" I ask confused, "the way you said it" Amara says while holding her stomach, "your mean" I say, "how am I mean?" She asks confused, "because you almost died laughing" I say "I have been told I can be a pain" Amara says while laughing a little, "I don't want to go in" I say when we are at the front of my house, "Gabriella what are you sacred of?" Amara says and grabs my hands in hers, "everything" I say while looking at my feet, "you know Evelyn she was sacred of everything also, but you know what she did when she was sacred?" Amara says while lifting my chin up, I shake my head. "She put on her biggest smile, she no one would think that she was afraid. And her smile was one of the reasons Joseph fell in love with her" Amara says with a big smile, "ok I'll try and be brave like Evelyn" I say and smile,
"That's the Gabriella I know" Amara says and puts her hands on her hips, just then my father comes rushing out, "Gabriella get in side now" my father says while walking over to me, "Amara could you stay with her something has happened and I need to take care of it" my fathers says while holding a rifle, "father what are you doing?" I ask sacred, "I have to take care of things Gabriella. Amara hurry take her in" my father demands, "no father what are you doing" I yell at him but he doesn't answer, "no father where are you going" I yell and try and run up to him but Amara holds me back, "father" I scream at the top of my lungs, "father please tell me where your going" I scream even louder.
