Epilogue

*Summer's POV*

I unlocked my apartment door, jumping a little to keep Penelope on my hip.

'Mummy, I'm tired.' She yawned, snuggling into the crease in my neck.

'Yes sweetie I know, I'll put you to bed in a minute,' I got the door unlocked and put Penelope down.

'Daddy!' She ran to her father -Wilson- with open arms. He came back from York yesterday and this is the first Penelope has seen of him since he came back.

I met Wilson in therapy while Jace was in hospital, his mum was dying and we seemed to get along well. And now 11 years later at the age of 27, we got married and had our first child who is currently 4 years old.

Jace is currently engaged to a lovely man called Elliot, they met on Jace's 21st birthday when I took him to a male strip club, Elliot was the waiter. They live in Watford, just outside of London.

Dan and Phil got married 6 years ago, they still live in their apartment but have swapped rooms to Phil's old bedroom and their sex life is probably still as active as it was when I lived there.

'Can you put Penny to bed while I sort out some papers, I'll be through in a minute,' I kissed his cheek and walked into the living room.

2 years ago I got a job as an English Literature teacher in collage and I had a load of paper work to do to move a student to my class. I never thought adulthood would be so difficult.

I walked to Penelope's room after I organised the papers into piles. When I arrived at the door I heard giggling.

'I thought you were putting her-' I stopped, my mouth opening at the sight. She's put Wilson's hair into small pigtails and put glitter eye shadow all over her face from the kids frozen make up set that I got for her 4th birthday.

My jaw dropped, laughter escaping it all at once. After a few minutes, I had to grab my stomach to stop it form hurting too much while doubling over at the same time..

'Aha, yes it'd very funny. Penny, do you want to sleep now,' He asked her, fondling with the pigtails.

'Can you read me a story Daddy?' She asked Wilson, giving him her 'puppy dog eyes'. He'd never admit it, but Penelope can wrap her dad round her little finger, metaphorically of course.

'Okay, only if Mummy will too,' He looked at me and smiled.

'Okay, only one though. Remember last time this happened, there was cake all over the floor. I can't exactly remember how it happened and, you have school tomorrow young lady,' I laughed, walking over to her bed, sitting at the end while she climbed in.

'So, once apun a time...' I began. The story ended up being about a princess, who got cursed by a witch that turned her old and she had to take a quest to meet a friendly dragon -Wilson's idea- and she gets there eventually, and lives happily ever after.

Penelope was asleep by the time we finished, she looked adorable while she slept, in a non-creepy way.

'When do you have to have the paperwork done by?' Wilson asked, shutting the door to Penelope's room.

'Tomorrow, she's transferring to my class so I have to have the paperwork done for tomorrow, give it to Darren, then it can be sent to the board,' I rubbed my temples 'Pop kettle on will you?'

He shook his head fondly and started to the kitchen 'You work too hard, Poppet,'

I sat down, got the paperwork and shortly after Wilson came back through with two mugs of tea.

'Thanks,' I smiled taking a sip and placing it on a coaster next to me.

'Bye Mummy,' Penelope kissed my cheek and hugged my tightly, then repeating the actions to her father. 'Bye Daddy,'

'Have fun at school,' Wilson smiled and we both waved until we saw her get into her school playground to join her friends.

I got into the drivers seat, I didn't have to be at work until 12 and Wilson had the day off.

'Do you want to go anywhere in particular?' I asked.

'No I'm okay, but can we take a trip to Starbucks?' He asked, grabbing my free hand as I used my other hand for the steering wheel.

I ordered a caramel latte and Wilson, a pumpkin spice latte with soy milk.

As we arrived home, I flopped myself onto the sofa.

'How long have you got until you have to be at work?'

'Bout an hour and a half, why?'

'I have an idea of something we can do that could only take 5 minutes,' He attempted to look seductive, but actually just looked like he was constipated or really needed the toilet.

'Oh really?' I propped myself up onto my elbows, pecking his lips quickly.

He rolled onto me, so he was on top.

I giggled slightly before pulling him down to me

-

I never would've had the life I had now if it wasn't for Dan and Phil and Jace and Touka, you'd never realise it but the people you take slightly, for granted, will make the biggest impact.

And i wouldn't have anything any differently, not at all.

And that is because, I was adopted by Phan, and that changed my life, forever.
