30th August, 2016

The bell rang

"Zee, keep an eye on Aurora. I'll get the door." Saph instructed, got up from the floor and walked out the door.

"Saph NO! Wait up. Shit. Ompphh." I yelled, cursed when I tripped over my own shoe lace and tumbled down face first

Groaning I rolled and got up slowly, fully aware of Aurora's cackling laughter.

I sprinted out of our room, to see Saph's blond head trudging towards the front door

"Sapphire Zayna Fakhoury, I deny you the permission of opening the damned door!"

She stopped in her tracks, turned and placed her hands on her hips.

"Take a break, grumpy. It's just Connor. I called him over." With that she took three steps and opened the door. She froze when she realised who it was

He grasped Saph's arm, pushed both of them inside and slammed the front door behind him, locking it.

He pushed her against the wall and leaned in really close, "Missed me?"

My heart was beating frantically. All I could hear was the sound of blood rushing in my ears. Red. That's all I saw.

"Get away from my sister." A growl escaped my throat. He heard it because he looked at me then, sneering.

"Shoulda known your bitch of a sister would be here too. Always a pain in the ass." He pulled out a dagger from his boot and pressed the shiny tip of it at Saph's throat.

"What do you think now, eh bitch? Shame, such beauties are of nothing but waste."

I patted my waist to get the gun I had hidden there, but came up empty handed

He pulled the dagger back and plunged it straight into her heart. A strangled scream erupted throughout which I knew was mine.

A trail of blood trickled out of Saph's mouth as her eyes rolled back.

I watched helplessly as my sister's body fell limp to the floor. The monster bend down and retrieved his dagger, then suddenly threw it at me, but it flew past me. I followed the dagger which pierced through Aurora's head, who stood a few feet away from me. Her fragile body fell to the ground but her eyes never closed, it were fixed on mine.

My knees gave out from under me, I sagged to the floor. Everyone's gone

The bastard towered over me now. He lunged at me but I rolled over and suddenly I was falling off a cliff into a bottomless abyss

My body jerked and my eyes flew open to find darkness surrounding me. I was sweating and panting as I scrambled in my position, bringing my knees to my chest and hugging them, tightly. The feeling of the soft mattress beneath me told me i had been dreaming.
