-Miranda's POV-

I woke up to the theme song of Spongebob Squarepants, the switch from Nick@Nite to Nickelodeon. It was Saturday so of course there were cartoons on. I swung my feet over my bed and let them rest on the ground as I rubbed my eyes. The clock read 9:31, my mum would be off to work by now and I had packing to do, for the wedding.

Exactly what I wanted to do on a Saturday. My father had already bought the tickets for the flight and we leave tomorrow night around six. My computer went off signaling someone was trying to contact me through Skype video chat. The I.D read of my fathers user name, I smiled and clicked 'answer'. His face soon popped up after a moment of the loading sign.

"Hey sweetie." He chirped through the microphone. He waved and I smiled back "Hey dad."

"How's my favorite daughter doing?"

"Dad I'm your only daughter." I laughed. He was the corniest one out of him and my mother. Always making stupid jokes that he only made himself laughed and left others confused.  "Yes but you won't be the only kid in my life for long."

I had forgotten that the thirty year old gold digger who goes by Vivian has a son named Lucas. He had only mentioned him a couple times and I've seen him once over video chat a few weeks ago, and he seemed sweet unlike his mother. Must've gotten it from his fathers side.

I just nodded and faked a smile, not that he would know a real to a fake one anyway. "I have a question for you?" He rang through the mic. I sat up on my bed bringing the laptop on my lap as my legs were crossed.

"And that would be?"

"Vivian's friend Carol can't make it to the wedding and she was wondering if you'd like to be one of her bridesmaids." I knew exactly was thinking at the moment. Hell to the no... I didn't even know her nor did I like her and she was asking me to be her bridesmaid. What kind of twisted sick game is she playing?

"I don't think so." I said taking my hair out of it's ponytail and letting it fall below to my shoulders. I ran my fingers through my brown unmanageable hair getting the knots out. "Please hun, It would mean a lot to me." I wanted to say no, and I mean it. I wanted nothing to do with this wedding, I didn't want to go to it and now I might be in it.

I shook my head no vigorously into the computer's HD camera. Nope, hard pass buddy. "It would be nice if you could share this moment with me." I wish I had my mothers way with the men into getting what I want. But nope I give in like my pussy ass father.

"Alright. Fine." His frown turned into a smile. "Thank you." He sighed and laid back into his black leather spinny chair, he was in his office that I could tell by the surroundings.

"Vivian is going to be so pleased. I think you'll like her, she's a saint." he practically preached her to me, going on and on about how special she is. Making me want to loose my dinner from last night. I pretended to listen and pretended to care as well, just to satisfy him. "Oh that's the oven dad! I have to go!" I said making up an excuse before he could further into the conversation.

"Alright sweetie, I'll see you tomorrow!" His smile got even wider and I wasn't sure that was even possible. I waved goodbye before signing off and soon finding myself in the kitchen a few short moments later. I raided the fridge for something to eat, I didn't actually feel like cooking anything so I settled on leftover pizza that was still sitting in the delivery box on the middle shelf in the fridge.

I curved the pizza in half and shoved it into my mouth as I walked into the living room and turned on the T.V as I plopped myself on the love seat, leaning my head on a throw pillow, and propping my feet on the other end of the couch.

The house phone was ringing and I was debating whether or not to pick it up or not. I let it go until it rang again and then again and again. Once it rang for the fifth time I found myself getting up and going over to the receiver where the phone was on the hook. I hit 'answer' and spoke; "Hello?" I asked

"Miranda you little slut." I heard my best friend Stella rant through the phone. I laughed and swallowed the last bit of my slice. "Miranda's House of Sluts, may I help you?"

"Yeah my best friend forgot to tell me that only the hottest guy in our school asked her out!" Oh shit, I knew I was forgetting to do something. Last week Sean, known as captain of the football team and dumbest person ever to walk the planet had asked me out a day after dumping his girlfriend or Mayfield High, school whore.

I sat back down on the couch and crossed my legs over starring at a portrait of me from my school pictures when I was in eighth grade. My hair was in a two separate braid and I had braces, glasses at the time and not to mention terrible asthma, so I kept an inhaler on me at all times. I was the geek of middle school until the following school year when the braces came off and the boobs came in. That's when people got around to knowing my name. I still wear my glasses at times but switched to contacts soon after the braces. For Stella no matter what I've looked like she's been my best friend.

"Oh I did, didn't I?" I chuckled.

"Yeah you have some explaining to do bitch."

"Language." I warned her, I was never big with swearing. I think it but never say it. For Stella she was the opposite of me and she swore like a sailor. "Sorry." She mumbled into the phone. I ended up explaining to her why I hadn't accepted but she didn't understand nor agree with my decision. I've had a lot of offers but I haven't returned any of them. Not big on the whole dating scene, never have, never will.

I then got around telling her how I was going to London tomorrow night for the wedding and she told me off, telling me she knew I was gonna give in. She could read me like an open book. "Mhmm... Who told you?"

"You did." I said boosting her ego.

"That's right. Now don't come back without getting some from one of those hunky British boys." She purred in the phone and I rolled my eyes though she clearly couldn't see me.

"Alright bye Stella."

"Bye whore." God that girl needs Jesus.

I walked back upstairs to my bedroom and grabbed my black suitcase from the top shelf in my closet. I threw it on my wrinkled up bed sheets that I've been meaning to clean but never got around to it. I walked over to my dresser and opened one of the drawers and grabbed a whole crap load of clothes and shoved them into the suitcase. A mixture of pants, cardigans, shirts, tank tops since I'll be there for a week. I sat on my suitcase trying to zip it up cause I filled it to the top and it wouldn't close.

I rolled my suitcase over to the door and sat it there. I got my dirty laundry from my bathroom and put it all in a laundry basket bringing it in the basement and starting it up in the washer. I cleaned my room up, and my bathroom the entire day until my mother came home with another night of takeout, not that I was complaining since my mother can not cook for dear life.

I grabbed the bag from my mother as she walked through the front door and brought it into the kitchen sitting it on the table. I slowly took out the Chinese takeout boxes and sat them on the table as my mother went into her room to take off her shoes and set down her briefcase. She came back into the kitchen and had already prepared a plate for the both of us.

We walked in the living room like usual and turned on the T.V not making a word to each other. It was unusually quiet tonight almost like she didn't want to talk to me, which is a shocker cause she's a talk-o-holic. I didn't interrupt the silence though, I just kept quiet for the rest of the night.

Hoping everything was alright.
