But I didn’t fall asleep so easily.
The words of that voice that seemed to mock me still haunted me.
Escape. . . They said. Awakened.
These were the last words I repeated in my mind before drifting off into a dreamless slumber.

"Do you ever miss it?" Mich asked as we sat on the ground in the backyard, out of breath from the combat practice we just did.
"Miss what?" I asked breathlessly.
"Shifting." he said.
I shrugged one shoulder. "I never really shifted much. Sometimes I did it to calm myself down when I got stressed before. I really have no use for shifting anymore. I don’t even think I can anymore." I didn’t realize how much this bothered me until I said the last part.
"Ever tried?"
"What’s the point? I’m a much better fighter in my human form then my wolf form anyway."
"Hmm." was he reply.
I raised my eyebrow at him. "Hmm?" I repeated.
"Well I’ve never seen you fight in your wolf form." he said.
"And you probably never will." I said with a smile.
The back door suddenly burst open and about 6 excited children came running out fighting over a soccer ball.
I smiled as they ran to the open grassy area on the opposite side of us.
