Madilyn's POV
I wake up in a strangers bed with my head banging. I looked around trying to remember where I am. There was no one in the room so I decided to walk downstairs. As I walked out of the room I passed a mirror. I looked at myself. I had a black eye and my lips were swollen. I looked at what I was wearing. I was wearing someone's shirt and my panties.

What the hell happened last night?

I continue to walk downstairs and I heard noises coming from the kitchen. I walked in and saw Sam standing in front of a stove.

"Sam?"I say walking in.

"Madilyn you're awake,"he says turning around.

"Yeah... why am I here?"I ask.

"You don't remember?"he asks.

"No,"I say.

"Well Colby beat you pretty bad last night. You had a black eye, your lip was bleeding, and you were throwing up,"he explains,"So I brought you to my house since I didn't know why you lived."

"Oh but Colby doesn't want you to hang out with me,"I say.

"Wait you heard that?"he asks.

"Y- yeah,"I say.

"I'm sorry,"he says.

"It's fine I'm used to of being the last choice for everything,"I say.

"Don't say that,"he says.

"But it's true."I say.

"It might be but it makes me feel bad,"he says.

"It's fine,"I say.

"Ok good. Do you want breakfast?"he asks.

"Sure,"I shrug.

I sit down at the table and Sam brings over some pancakes and bacon.

"This looks surprisingly good,"I compliment.

"What's that supposed to mean?"he asks.

"Nothing,"I say.

"Ok..."he trails off.

I grab two pancakes and a few pieces of bacon. We start eating without saying anything until Sam finally does.

"You know that Colby told me that I can talk to you just not in school,"Sam says.

"Well that's basically the only time we see each other,"I say.

"True but if we both find out where each other live we can go to each other's houses,"he says.

Then I remember that we have school today.

"Sam we have to go to school,"I say.

"Madilyn I don't think you're in a good enough condition to,"he says.

"But my mom trusts me,"I say.

"Well tell her that you got sick. I mean you basically are,"Sam says.

"But I didn't bring my phone,"I say.

"Here you can use mine,"Sam says handing me his phone.

"Thanks,"I say grabbing it.

I walk into the living room and dial my moms phone number.

"Hello?"she picks up.

"Hi mom it's Madilyn,"I say.

"Madilyn? Why aren't you in school?"she asks.

"I'm sick,"I lie.

"Are you lying to me?"she asks.
