Next chapter in this book is the continuation of this. It was super long so I decided to separate it. Lol

"Please! Don't hurt me!"

My ears perked up at the sound of a damsel in distress.

I just so happened to be leaving Tails's place when screams and whimpers filled the cool night time air.

I took off running towards the noise. I spotted a (a/t). She looked scared to death. Her clothes were covered in dirt...and blood. Her face was covered in the crimson substance as well.

I was about to run towards her but then a lion ran up to her, picking her up by her waist. She let out an ear piercing scream as she was hauled in the bushes.

They struggled in the bushes before sickening punching noises could be heard and the girl cried out.

"S-STOP! PLEASE!"

I ran over, grabbed the lion by his shirt, and slung him off the girl.

"Hey! Back off! You don't know what you're doing,"he growled, rising from the ground.

"I do. Just walk away and we won't have to fight,"I replied. "I can't just walk away. Not until she pays the price,"he said, pointing at the bushes the defenseless girl still laid.

"She couldn't have done something that bad."

"You have no idea, hedgehog."

Running at me, he threw a right hook at me, which I dodged. I threw a punch to his side and he groaned in pain.

He quickly regained himself, sweep kicking me.

I fell to the ground with a thud. The lion pounced on me, grabbing me by my throat.

"You should've just walked away! You don't know what terror that girl has brought!"he growled.

His hands tightened around my neck, making me choke on whatever air I did have.

I wheezed, one of my hands scratching at his and the other flailing around. My fingers wrapped around something hard and cold.

Just before he could tighten his grip any more, I swung my arm around and knocked the shit out of his head.

His eyes rolled back, they closed, and his body went limp.

I groaned as I rolled him off me. I checked his head to make sure I hadn't hurt him too bad.

It was just a lump in his head.

He'll be fine.

I sighed as I stood from the ground and jogged over to the bushes.

As I thought, the girl still laid there. Curled up in a tight, trembling ball.

She whimpered, sensing my presence.

"I-If you're going to kill m-me...make it quick. Don't make me s-suffer."

"Hey, hey. I'm not going to hurt you, miss."

She looked up at me. "W-What happened? I-I thought..."

I chuckled, rubbing my nose. "What? You thought I lost? Nah, that doesn't happen. Need help?"

I reached my hand out, but she only cowered back.

"No, no. It's okay. I'm not going to hurt you. If I wanted to, I would've helped that guy. You can trust me,"I smiled.

Her (e/c) eyes glimmered in the moonlight with hesitation. She slowly reached out her hand, taking mine.

Her hand was cold and shaky, but strangely, it warmed my heart.

I gently pulled her up.

"Are you hurt anywhere? I can call you an ambulance. I know I have to-"

"No! I...I'm okay. I don't need an ambulance. I'm fine. I just need a place to rest and...wash up."

She looked down at the lion. She gasped softly.

"Did you..."

"Oh! No, I didn't kill him! I just knocked him out."

She nodded, rubbing her upper arms.

"What's your name?"I asked. She looked up at me. "(Y/n)...and yours?"she asked.

"Sonic,"I smiled. "Thank you, Sonic. I was so scared,"(Y/n) shivered. "Why was he chasing you? He said you did something,"I said.

(Y/n) didn't speak for a moment.

"He was crazy. He thought I did something horrible but actually, I didn't do a thing."

I observed her features. Her pupils were dilated and her chin trembled. But you'd have to look closely to tell.

"There aren't many motels close by, so I'll take you to my place to rest. You can contact anyone you need to in the morning,"I smiled.

"A-Are you sure? I don't want to be a burden..."

"It's fine, it's fine. I don't mind, (Y/n)."

She hesitated before nodding. "Alright. I don't live far, but do you need me to carry you? You're still shaking,"I pointed out.

"No...I'm fine. I'll manage,"she replied softly. I nodded.

We left the scene, leaving the lion on the ground until someone found him or he woke up. Which ever came first.

When we made it to my place, I took (Y/n) upstairs to my room. I guided her to my bathroom and gave her some clothes.

"I don't have an extra room, so you can stay in my room tonight,"I said to her, turning on the showerhead. "Oh, no. I'm fine with sleeping on the couch,"she replied.

"Ya sure? I honestly don't-"

"Yes, Sonic, I'm sure. I'm already invading the privacy of your home. I don't want to take your room too."

The warm water began to fog up the room.

"Alright then...are you hungry? I have different things to eat,"I said proudly. (Y/n) gave a small giggle.

"I actually am kind of hungry...I'll take anything you have to offer. I'm not picky,"she said. "Good. Go on and get your shower,"I smiled at her.

I left the room after pointing out where she should put away her ruined clothing so that I could try to wash them for her.

I then went downstairs to get started on (Y/n)'s food. I decided to warm up some chicken noodle soup. It always makes me feel better so I'm sure it'll do the same for her.

After about twenty minutes, (Y/n) came downstairs. She wore one of my t-shirts and a pair of my sweatpants. They both fit loosely so she had the shirt tucked in and the pants tied with the laces.

Her (h/l), (h/c) locks were still damp so she had a towel draped around her shoulders.

I beckoned her into the kitchen where her bowl of soup sat on the cabinet. "Thanks, Sonic,"she smiled, picking her spoon up. "No prob,"I replied, smiling as well.

I watched as she ladled a spoon full into her mouth with a straight face.

Huh...it's always been super good to me. I thought she'd have a different reaction but I guess everyone's taste buds are different.

After she finished, I gave her plenty of blankets and pillows to rest on the couch with, at her request of course.

If it were up to me, she'd sleep in my bed and I'd sleep on the couch, but she's so persistent. I don't like the thought of guests sleeping on the couch.

The next morning, I woke up and went downstairs. (Y/n)'s spot on the couch was empty. Her blankets and pillows were folded and stacked neatly and on the floor beside the arm of the couch...as well as the clothes I lent her.

So, she's running around naked somewhere...?
