CHAPTER 1 //Family

"I am going to die!,do you get that I.am.goin.to.die.This isn't something an eighteen year old should have to be telling her best friend, I'm young and i have so much more of Life to live and see.How could this happen to me,what did i ever do to deserve this." I Screamed at him, releasing all my pain and frustration.

 "Laura, would you shut up for one second i'm trying to focus, stop exaggerating your period before it really gives you something to scream for." My best friend Ross said as he sat at my desk with his biology book in front of him while he tried to cram for finals

. "You are the enemy of progress.Don't you understand that if i don't do this, I'll be forced to go with my mom to shop for 'girl stuff'' Saturday, i have to start crying early, i don't like to go shopping with her she goes all crazy.i pretty much prefer her buy things and give me, that's what she used to do, but now she wants to-" 

"Laura?"

 "yes Rossy?"

 "I don't care." he deadpanned then turned back to his book.

 "Ouch I'm wounded." i said with fake pain as i held unto to the area where my heart is suppose to be. 

after a few minutes of getting restless and staring at my ceiling i crack "waaaaaaa! Waaaaaaaaa! Why does this have to happen to me, what did i ever do mama-sita? Mi llama is tired. Je Maple Sorry." i said as i rolled about in my bed. I guess you could call me a drama queen.

 "Are you using Spanish,French and English in one sentence while you still use it wrongfully?" Ross asked spinning around on my chair as his long blonde hair sprawled across his face. 

"Yes,yes I am;Now please don't judge a sister as she sheds her oh so unfortunate tears." i said plastering a fake grin on my face.

 "you mean fake tears."he said, the pencil he was using to twirl around his finger was now pointing directly at me. 

"Shut up you Large lion." i said as i stretched my two feet in the air.

 "one maca two maca three macarella, four maca five maca six macarella, seve maca eight maca nine macarella HEY MACARELLA EY!"i sang jumping on my bed and swinging my arms in the air.

 "This is hopeless." i heard Ross mumbled then he grabbed his book and walked out of my room.

"what? where are you going Rossy!" "far far away." i heard him said as he supposedly walked down the stairs. "DINNER IS READY." i heard my mother shout from the kitchen. "YAYE ME!"i screamed excited as i jumped down from my bed and dashed out of my room only to run straight into into my big pregnant sister. "Oh my god Laura do you want to kill my baby!" she looked at me with a panicked expression as she wrapped her hands around her swollen abdomen protectively. "What oh my gosh i'm sorry, i would never try to do that to my wittle niecey wiecey". i said bending to come face to face with her 9 month old belly. "urge whatever." she said waddling her way down the stairs.Skipping my way down the flight of stairs i was met with my sister and Ross fighting for a chair in the kitchen, my Mom placing a bowl of spaghetti on the dining table and my dad walking into the kitchen with Vanessa's husband Riker. Yup my sister is married to my best friend's brother of course everything has it's pros and cons. "Alright bro move over before you throw my wife down." "wow you're putting a girl over your own flesh and blood.wow i'm actually wounded." Ross said taking a sit next to me and holding the area where his heart is suppose to be located. "Watch it dude. not just any girl, that's Mrs Vanessa Lynch for you." My sister Vanessa said pointing at Ross who was now grinning at her. "Okay kids settle down so we can eat. Laura Sweetie please say grace." my mom said clasping hands with me and Riker that was on her next side and was echoed by a bunch of groans."Oh miraculous and merciful One; The great one who created the stars for the night and the Sun for the day.The one that created the fishes of the sea and the birds of the air.The one who created big thing, Smalls things, Short things, Tall things, Fat thing,skinny thing-" "okay honey we got it." i was interrupted by my dad but decided to ignore it. "The one who created the rain and the wind,Man and woman boy and girl we thank you....." "Ame-" "THE ONE WHO CREATED GOOD AND EVIL-"i continued loudly "AMEN!" the entire table shouted causing my eyes to fly open, to find every one staring a me bewildered except Ross who was already chewing his baked chicken in his mouth. "Okay then, such a supportive family."i mumbled and begin taking out my food. "Mom why do you keep making Laura pray you know how she is." my sister Vanessa said as she passed her husband the hot sauce. "Because she is the only one who really understands how to pray and is thankful,all you guys ever say is 'we thank you for the meal provided amen' that's it." My mom said. "But we're still thankful." Riker said while glaring at Ross who tried to take the hot sauce out of his hand. "what ever how was everyone's day? Nessy how are you feeling?" mom said changing the subject. "i feel like a over stuff Christmas pig to the second power." my sister said but that didn't stop her from fulling her face. "You are nothing of the sort you are my beautiful Pregnant wife who is soon to bring fort our child.you look amazing stop fusing." Riker reassured his wife and tucking a strand of hair behind her ear. "Mom Tell riker stop lying to me." "sweetie he's not lying he listen to your husband. Ross how was your day love?" "It was normal nothing big, i went on a lunch date with Modesty and went home to study then i came here." Ross said shudging. Modesty is Ross's girlfriend they've been dating for 11 months and to say That me and her are best friends would be a big lie.I try to be friends with her but she just doesn't like me. I try as hard as possible not to get in her way,but some how my perky personalty always finds it's way in her space. "Oh how is she?" my mom asked. "Well she's doing better from since they got to take the fish bone out of her throat." he said assuring my mother. "Should have died." Vanessa mumbled but everybody heard. Vanessa doesn't like the best Bone in Modesty. Not only because she believe's that Modesty is using Ross but also because she knows how she treats me." Babe." Riker sent a warning look at Vanessa which resulted in her rolling her eyes. looking at Ross I realized that he was ignoring everything.He knew how we all felt about her.I feel sorry for him sometimes because it's not only me and Vanessa it's everyone he loves.His mom hates her because she broke her great grandmother's vase that was in the family for centuries.it would seem petty but Ross' mother had repeatedly told her not to touch or go close to it, but modesty being stubborn and own way followed her own rule and picked it up off the floor and when Ross's neighbour's dog came charging at her she panicked and it fell. Yup even Ross's neighbor's dog Max doesn't like her. From the beginning Ross' dad Mark just didn't like her, He say's he smells a snake. My dad doesn't do much conversing with her. My mom tries to speak to her all for Ross because she knows how everyone is to her. But i have nothing against her like the others,i try speaking to her but she doesn't like me and i sick and tired of embarrassment. All my life i have been embarrassed by people. "Laur how was your day?"My mom asked "Oh well it's was alright i guess." i said smiling "that's good sweet-" my mom started but was cut short by me. "Well i woke up,took a bathe,brushed my teeth. dressed, then i had to wait on Vanessa to drop me to school because Ross couldn't come pick me up, then when i came to school i fell,oh my gosh you should have seen it, it was so embarrassing-" i said "I knew it was too good to be true." Ross said next to me.i was also a speaker i loved talking it was a joy just to express yourself you know so exciting. "i almost cried my eyes out. oh oh let me tell you the story how i saved a mouse today!" i cheered and everyone groaned and began getting up from the table. "come on guys i promise you'll love it. So i was walking around the field....."

And that's how it went for the rest of the night.But of course my annoying ways  drove Ross , Riker and Vanessa home.
