The thirty nine clues series. I only own four through eight, plus ten, credits to all the authors that helped write this.
When Dan and Amy Cahill's grandmother dies, at her funeral a contest is put in place. Find the thirty nine clues, you get the reward. They'll be given the money she left them if they don't participate, but they will get so much more if they do and win. They join the contest, and play a most dangerous game.
I enjoyed this book series, I read all of them in the fourth grade I think, in less than two weeks, they're pretty short. Enjoy!
