You and Mark had been friends for the past few months, hanging out practically all the time. Anytime your mom or one of your friends from work called you, you were hanging out with Mark. You two had even shot some videos together after you branched off to make your YouTube channel.

The fans, of course, went nuts. Fanart and fanfictions began to spring up everywhere, making you giggle every time someone sent you a super cute drawn picture of you and Mark or linked you a fluffy fanfiction. But you knew that this is all you and Mark were; friends. That you dating was just a dream to exist in the writings of the fans.

Mark had his eye out on another girl anyway. He talked about her all the time. She sounded so much prettier then you, so much better then you. All you could do was encourage him to talk to her. Mark deserved to be happy. He made you and so many other people happy, so he deserved his own form of happiness.

Mark showed up at your apartment one day with a huge grin on his face, a small bouquet of flowers in his hand. "Hey-ya (Y/N)!" He seemed so happy and alive that day. You leaned against the door frame with your (H/C) hair in  a messy bun in your sweats and one of your channel shirts, smiling meakly. "Hey Mark. Where are you going?"

"I'm going to ask Amy out, just like you said!" He chirped. Your smile fell and settled into a soft frown. "Oh, well good luck, buddy." He fixed his 'lucky' flannel and combed his hair back, then looked down at you, a concerned look creeping onto his face. "(Y/N)? You okay?"
"Hm?" You meet his eyes and nod, forcing a fake smile. "Oh yeah, I'm fine! Just thinking about all the work I have to do later for the channel."

"Are you sure?" He asked, raising an eyebrow. "I mean, if something is bothering you, you can tell me, I'll sit and listen, try to help you out even. Here, I'll just call Amy and tell her--"
"No, Mark, really. I'm just tired and I have a lot of work to do. You go and have fun with Amy." He sighed.

"Okay, but remember, I have my phone on me if you need anything, alright?" You nod. "Yeah, thanks, Mark. Have fun." He shot one more look at you before nodding. "Alright, (Y/N). I'll see you later." You nod and close the door, sighing and leaning against it. Ah, the friendzone. Damn, did it suck. You shook your head. You were doomed to be the third wheel and the best friend anyway, you just had to get used to it.

So, with that, after getting yourself a cup of coffee and plopping down at your computer, you streched and set to work. A few hours after recording a long over due collab with Sean, you rest back in your chair yawning. It was weird not being with Mark for once. You couldn't help but wonder if everything had gone okay, even though you knew it wasn't any of your business.

You couldn't help but feel jealous of Amy. She had the best guy in the world chasing after her. You would've given anything to say that about your life, but sadly, you were a lonely little potato and you had a feeling that's how it would stay. But you couldn't help but imagine you and Mark together, happy.

You imagined cuddling with him when the heater broke, or waking up to a sleepy Mark with a soft kiss to the lips that would most likely lead to a lazy make out session. A stupid grin formed on your face as you took a sip of coffee, lost in your fantasy. But, of course, these dreams could only exist in fanfictions. You rubbed the bridge your nose and sighed, shaking your head. "Stop it." You mumbled to yourself, standing and streching. You moved downstairs for another cup of coffee, yawning as you stood in front of the coffee maker, waiting for it to stop brewing.

You really did need to catch up on sleep, you chided yourself. You were beginning to get circles under your eyes from staying up late working on videos. You just started back to your recording room when there was a knock on your door. "Hm?" You crinkle your eyebrows in confusion as you slid to your front door, opening it to see Mark. "Mark?"

He sighed and nodded. You noticed he was still gripping the bouquet in his hand, looking down at his shoes. Everything suddenly clicked and you made a small noise of sympathy. "Honey..." He sighed and looked up, giving you a sad smile. "It's fine (Y/N), she's already with someone. Don't worry about it." You chewed your lip. "Are you sure, Mark? You can stay here for a bit if you want. I'll get you some coffee and we can watch some movies, yeah?"

He nodded greatfully. "You're the greatest friend anyone could ever ask for." You froze slightly when he said 'friend', realization smacking you hard in the face yet again. You two were friends. That's all you'd ever be, so stop dreaming about dating him...
