I speak.
You never listen.
My words fall on deaf ears.
I try to get your attention but
You never try to hear

Anything important,
To me.
It's not to you.

I'm getting so frustrated
I don't know what to do.

Screaming for attention,
Bleeding out my love,
Wishing someone wanted me,
My mask fits like a glove.

No one'd ever be able to tell
That its not really me.
Only noticing the surface
Never looking underneath.

Sometimes I really can sympathize
With mimes that have to try
Acting out their feelings
For people passing by.

For the mimes,
their words stay silent; unheard;
Their hands and gestures
their only words.

But the people don't understand.
They only see
Another silly street performer,
Trying hard to be

Good enough to earn a laugh,
maybe a buck or two.
But what they don't know
is everything.

People have no clue.

Me and that mime
are one and the same.
I'm trapped in my head,
He's stuck in charades.

No one hears our words,
Keep playing their games.
We'll never compare to
Fortune and fame.

There are no second chances
In reality.
Sometimes we have to just
take a breath
apprehensively.

Standing right in front of you,
Invisibility,
Seems to be a trait I have.
Your eyes unable to see.

Blinded by society,
enraptured in the lights,
Holding on to years gone by,
Convinced you're always right.

Open your eyes and
Drop the excuse,
You're "not my faults"
Just light my fuse.

I hate that,
Just listen!
I try but you don't care.
Screaming in frustration;
pulling out my hair.

Do you want to just forget me?
No, you always say.
Fine. Then explain to me
Why every single day,

You blatantly ignore me
And lie when I accuse
You of every terrible silence
The theme song of abuse.

Now we're just not speaking,
though it could have been resolved.
I guess no matter how hard we try,
Some problems can't be solved.
